Hi, just wondering what is the difference between the newer and older blasters? other than the obvious, Front hydro brakes and plastics? is their any other differences?

not really besides a few electrical things. parking brake switch. and a couple other things i'm forgetting. besides that they are the same other than the things you already said

Ok, just wondered since im stripping mine down, started today and will be getting powder coated and i have some full set of a arms, hibs and disc brakes of a quad i stripped before that will fit straight on :)

the 88-89 blasters didn't have heel guards or foot pegs long enough for heel guards. They also had different lower ball joints on the front. The hubs on the 88-89 are NOT swappable with the other models.

90-03 blasters were functionally identical except for 2000+ had brake light swtiches and a taillight with a dual element

03+ blasters had the hood and headlight different, the frame was changed slight to support that and the master cylinder bracket for the rear hydro brakes. The front has hydraulic brakes... The stator has 5 wires instead of 4 (an extra ground for the source coil). The CDI unit is different including incorporating the TORS brain into the CDI box. The clutch handle was different (but swappable). The key switch was moved from the handlebars down to the hood and the handle bar cover was changed.

MOST of the stuff on ALL of the blasters is swappable. With the exception of the 5 wire stator (which could be "worked around" the engines are all the same. The carburetors were basically the same, the pipes are swappable, the wheels and tires are all swappable.
