ok im sure everyone has there favorite, but what is the best piston for a stock blaster? i see alot of wiseco, wsm, and manura. is a teflon coated, hi silocone piston really mean anything? someone in here said not to use a wiseco if you are not racing it.

thanks

Wiseco makes great pistons.

If you're redoing the top end just because, check the stock piston, it may be fine. I recently did my 200 blaster, opened it up, had the cylinder honed, re-used the stock piston, and threw in a new set of rings. If you do this, keep in mind you still have to do a break in period for the rings to seat properly.

I have a stock WSM piston that I bought thinking I might use but don't think I ever will if you want. From what I've heard they don't compare to wiseco though.

teflon coasting will inprove the wear characteristics of the piston, Namura make a cast psiton with teflon coating, they also have a higher silica content than stock or Prox pistons, so its one of your better cast pistons but id still say its not as good as forged!

I ONLY put Wiseco in my 2-Strokes, even stock motors, forged is the only way to go if you want it to last.

I have been using the WSM piston in my blaster with no problem.. If your piston-to-wall clearance is good the piston will hold up.. I've never been one to buy parts based on the name on the box.. MY stock piston lasted 5 years in a new blaster. Maintenance is key to survival of a motor.

yip, i agree, your motor is only as good as the person who built it, good parts fitted badly wil probably fail before cheaper parts fitted well!

I have a WSM piston in my motor now and have had no problem with it.. I had run my brand new stock motor( stock piston) piped and jetted for 5 years and never had a problem. I have never been one to buy parts just by the name on the box.. Maintenance is the key to survival of your quad. I'm not paying $20-$30 more just for a name..

it isn't the name when the part is made different and better than others.
wiseco makes the best piston out there for quads and bikes without a doubt.

i think you mean +0,040" not +0,40".
but if i remember correctly, it should be on the box and i think it is 0,005". if i am wrong someone correct me.

and before people bash the guy, other countries us a comma (,) instead of a period (.) like i did.
