i just baught a 2001 blaster yesterday for pretty cheap that needs a little work. but runs good. the guy told me it had a 240 kit. but it was on their when he baught it and he never pulled the motor apart. just for resale and knolegde when i have todo motor work and stuff on it how do i know what kit is on their? how would i find out?
how would i know if it is something like a vitos kit?
or if it is like a bored out stock cyclinder?
how would i be able to find out any of the info about the motor?
thanks.

measure the bore. anything under 72mm its not a big bore kit. The stock cylinder could have just been bored out to accept a BB sleeve. Your best bet is to measure the bore or if its a wiseco piston you might be able to see what the numbers are and you can tell that hy as well.

thanks guys that video definitely answered all my questions. i am gonna take a look at it one of these days when i am workign on it. i thaught it would eb alot harder to tell them apart then that but i guess not
thanks I:I

okay i watched the video and i have a stock cyclinder jug im pretty sure basee don the look and markings and a stock head i think? i havent pulled the head off yet. but what should i look for to see if i actually have a 240? because my jug has a y-2 marking on that and the video said that was a stock cylinder?

ok so i took the head off but the piston does not say the size on it. andd i don not have the tools to measure the cyclinder...
is their any other way to be able to tell with out the tools?
also i took the carb off just to give it a good clean and when i pulled the float boal off i saw that it has a 360 main jet??????

ive had blasters before and ive never had one with a main jet that high. the highest ive ever ran was a 280 with a full fmf exhaust.

this one has a full procurcuit pipe but 360 still sounds really big to me. it runs good and doesnt foul plugs? with that big of a jet be a give away thsat it has a 240 sleeve?
just curious?

You better leak test that thing!

As far as measuring without calipers goes just use a standard tape measure. Measure the inside of the cylinder. Hold the tape on 1" on one side and see what it measures. if it's more than 2 3/4" than it's a big bore. Less than 2 3/4" than it it not. Your actual measurement will be below 3 3/4" or above 3 3/4" because your holding the tape measure on 1" Make sense?

68.25mm (Max bore size on standard cylinder is around 2 11/16"

72mm (First bore on 240 sleeve/cylinder is 2 13/16"

A jet that big could mean a cover up for an air leak somewhere.
