Well guys i just bought a 2005 yamaha blaster rode like 3 or 4 times it was running strong then today i was just satrting out i was in first gear and let the clutch out and half throtle and BOOM

I will Give you pics when i tear it down

Do you still have the oil injection system on? If so I would check to see if that failed on you. Also you should remove it during your rebuid to be on the safe side.

no i did not check my jetting and oil injection is blocked off i think because i mix

It is all stock correct? Did you happen to take the airbox lid off?

You should check to see if the oil pump was still hooked up.

same as my piston skirt broke, better split them cases to get all them pieces out

well it can be a few thing but my guess is this a 2 stroke is suppose to have .002 to .003-1/2 piston skirt to cylinder wall clearance if this clearance get grater then that in high rpms the piston will end up cocking it self and the skirt will dig in to the cylinder wall and you can see what happens first hand i have had a few of these come in my shop you have to split the case not if ans or but just like ever one said all so take a good look at the case to make sure no piston frag has cracked the case look around the crank let use know good luck:p

Wow that brings back memories for me too. Exact same year and same color even. Only sad thing different for me was i bought mine with the same exact piston and rode it around for a year. I only noticed that half my skirt was gone when i took off the top end to inspect my piston. Imagine my surprise when i took off the top end and saw that. By the way my blaster was running just fine for the year and a half i had it at that point
