Exactly. Hell our 1 year old computer has always had protection and other security programs but just yesterday it got a virus that ate the hard drive and crashed..... permanently.
Right about now I'm AM a little parinoid especially with these hackers out there with no life who troll around the forum and cause sh*t, who knows what they could really do if they wanted.......
Thanks for the offer but its too late. We took it to a tech, it had been crashing for a while after we installed nortn 360( we just thought it was a framework error with the vista program ) Then yesterday we tuned it one and it crased again just like before but this time it wouldn't restart itself, so then when we turned it on it would come on start to load for 1/2 a second then stop... the monitor wounldn't even get a signal ( yes all the cables were good ) it wouldn't even load DOSE ( I think thats what its called )Turns out there is a virus that attacks the nortn program and crashes hard drives. We didn't want to pay for a new hd then pay to have it installed, so we just bought a new desktop for $398 at walmart.
I'm sure it could have been reformatted and could have been reused but we didn't want to go through all the bs involved ( plus it would never really be the same ) there was also a 11-15 day wait for a tech to work on it.
That blows. I don't know what size hard drive you had in it, but you can get cheap hard drives for like $50. If you threw that in there and used a Vista recovery disk to reformat it, you could have done that. Or on the hard drive, put it in a different computer and completely format it to get rid of everything (I think you could assign it to a slave drive so it doesn't boot from that, it's just accessable) and then reinstalled Vista. It's cool you got one that cheap from Walmart though, the specs alright?
Yeah that would have worked the one problem was there were no disks that came with it when we bought it, I have my own but I have a dell and ours was a hp.
Its an E machines, I know they are made by hp but I don't know much more about them.
The specs are actually great double what we had before.
6 gb of ram, 750 gb hd, duel AMD II processors, windows 7, and the other usual stuff.
please, ban concrod when he comes back, i have much reason to beleive he is jshockey111, why are none of the mods replying to my pm's, we voted freek a mod cause he's always on and now hes never on, i'm glad we got this cleared up though, and hopefully concrod is gone for good!
what happend to all concords posts, look for them, they are all gone. i guess he had a second thought before joining this site. i am 100% sure he was jshockey111, but i think he might be gone now, ..........................hopefully!!!!!!, people are so weird these days. just like psycho's like concord!
he deleted his account too!!!! what a freek, whyare people so rude that they can't just let us enjoy our forum,.............no these computer geeks(no offense XCroniK) must try to ruin us normal peoples fun, god,they need to get a life!
