okk i cant post in the ask a pro forum so here is my ? i do alot of trail riding and hill climbing and such maybe some track stuff everyonce in awhile. but almost all my friends ride 450's so i wana build my blaster to keep up or better yet surpass them when were riding hard. is this possible??? and if so what would i need to get it done.

to be honest, on a track, unless the 450 riders are terrible, u arnt gunna come close, suspension geometry is just way too old on these things, now as a trail machine, a 240 kit with a mild port would do the job. However, you could put the fastest engine in the world in these things, and u would still be slow cause of the terrible suspension. I say, grab a used 400ex rear shock and ken oconner bushings to mount it. Get some used works dual rate or more front shocks, and thenm work on your engine

well my one friend has a wrecked honda 450 and he is giving me the shocks to put the blaster and he is going to try and mount the fronts two i do have +3 +1 arms so he is going to try and fab something up to make it work for me but im more interested in speed haha, i wana do what i can without getting a 240 kit so is it possible without the 240 kit???

well you can send it for some porting and put a stroker crank in it, will definately see an increase, but the whole job is gunna be 800+ at a shop, just to keep in mind

you could do some work yourself and save alot of money.

but a pipe, reeds, filter, carb, porting and crank would be a screamer

I recommend you call each of the builders and talk to them yourself to see who you are comfortable with.

Flotek, Ken O, Wildcard racing.

All good builders with good reputations who will return quality work. Just see who you feel comfortable with.
