my house isn't drive by accessibly. live a 1/4 mile of the road is nice. so you would have to drive down my driveway, which means getting through the gate.

here ya go they didnt really melt just burnt off there was also another set of reed petals that burnt off

i still cant tell if thats melted or just worn/cracked, and after the cracks developed, is it possible it was leaving combustion or exhaust gases back into the reed area ???

i have had the set that came with them crack so slightly that it was so hard to notice i had to take them off twice because of the idling problem, it would start but wouldnt idle and when u hit the gas it died, after i eliminated every other probable problem it could have been i investigated the reeds again, took them off the cage and inspected them thats when i found the crack, but urs look pretty fu*t, its 50 or 60 for replacement at the shop, i have had them for 2 1/2 yrs and no problems.

They just cracked, then frayed and broke off. Replace the pedals and re-install em, otherwise post em up for sale the way they are and let peps buy em off ya.

but they are carbon fiber, they have such a high tensile strength, there is no way they can crack. they just couldn't.

guys to me they look burnt. shop people say there burnt. But i guess ill have to go with you guys since there arent many blasters at there shop maybe they did just crack but look burnt to me

the darkness your seeing is the carbon left after the fibers are gone from breakage and chatter.

Dont fret, just replace the pedals and get back on that horse.

Carbon fiber. The same thing bullet proof vests are made from and flame retardant clothing. This stuff doesnt burn (yes, the fibers can under extreme heat) and if it did on the intake side, your carb caught fire as well and the whole bike is a molten pile of rubble right now.
