so some of you may know i bought a 250r and i have pics of it in another thread. anyways my blaster sold today and its gone. Now im looking at building up my 250r but my only worries are will parts become hard to find in time? and in time i mean 3-4 years time? Im worried i build up a 250r and then in 4 years time i break something and parts are near impossible to find

Thats always a concern with anything you buy.

Ya its not like the blaster, a cheap model, that went unchanged for many years. They sold new cheap and been a long production run of them.

my 1985 lt250 and 1986 lt300e and 1989 yamaha moto 4, those, I can still get parts 4, but not as near as cheap and easy, as it is for the blasters.

Sporty

Well we all have different views of what fixing it up or how we ride one.

That would help me determine, what to do. and how much I want to spend also.

If you want bigger, just go bigger, and save the money for putting it into that.

ya the moto4s are pretty easy to get parts for and they last forever my dad bought ours pretty mutch new and after20 somthing years all weve had to do is replace the clutches

You can get parts for anything if you don't mind doing some looking. To be honest with you, its a toss-up on the 250r. In my experience, you can expect OEM parts to be available from a manufacturer for 15-20 years after the last of a given model has left the factory. This is especially true for models that were extremely popular and/or were produced for years. Even though far fewer TRX 250r's were produced than Blasters, they were raced for several years, even long after Honda ceased production of them.

That said, Honda seems to have a bad habit of discontinuing factory parts for many of the machines it makes after about 15 years. The aftermarket for TRX 250r's is very strong, but I don't have much faith in Honda keeping up production of OEM parts for them. I have a feeling that, in the coming years, the 250r is going to be one of those machines which you can just about build from a catalog, but is gonna be difficult to find certain OEM pieces for.

you gotta a point braptor but see transmission parts are hard to find! and i dont see aftermarket ones
