So I bought my Blaster roughly 3 months ago. Rode it once and the motor went. Took the motor out and took it to a local shop. 3 months ago. They bored it, put in a new Wiseco crank and all new seals and bearings and finished it off with a Namura .060. Motor got finished 2 weeks ago. Cost me $450. During the time it was there I completely redid my Blaster (Project Rust-oleum) When I went up to get the motor, it had no stator, flywheel, stator cover, clutch cover, or kicker. They told me to put it in and bring the whole thing back to finish it and break it in. So i took it back up on Monday. I called today (Friday) and its still not done. Apparently the guy that was supposed to work on it didnt come in for a day or two. So its back together, but they went to take it through the gears, guess what, it broke! Apparently it needs a drift key and some other sh*t. They called the Yamaha dealer and they cant find the part anywhere on the microfiche. They say it doesn't exist. WTF? Sorry, just a little venting. And im not bagging on the shop or anyone in particular, just venting a little. But A. what is a drift key? B. what does it do? And C. why cant the dealer find it? Id look it up in my Clymer, but its up at the shop too.

they might mean a woodruff key? u can buy those at any hardware store lol. a broken woodruff key defineitly screws with the gears it doesnt do any damage just cant go through the gears. it should only cost about a dollar
