truck i might be getting

yea there are just somthings that are holding me back from getting like
the lift is slightly big for my taste
my dad doesnt really want me getting rid of my quad
the 4x4 knuckle is broke off
it will use ALOT of gas, but thats not that big of a deal
1 of the swampers is worn out

You cant tell the who the pussies are because they complain about gas. They dont realize that you dont buy a truck for gas miliage. I:I

that was a really stupid statement, so pretty much everyone who said something about gas is a pussy? ok any way

most trucks get decent gas mileage so good job

If you think the resale market for a late 70s swamper is bigger then the resale market for any atv....you must live in the far far south..... assuming they are of equal value right now.... i cant see how the truck holds its value better...considering its age etc..

no one wants to by quads right now, people dont have money for the play stuff

and its not a 70s swamper, its a ford

and i never new virginia was far in the south

so that truck is a daily driver.. not a toy swamper truck???? yikes... i guess virginia is pretty south....

/\/\/\ thats all this truck is too.........play stuff !!!!
it's not reasonable for a daily driver, and probably unreliable too,
and way too high for a work truck, who wants to use a step ladder to get tools in and out of it ????
but i'm really beginning to hope you do get it, so we can all say "we told you so" when its sittin behind the shed, out of gas and broke down needing parts < cause as you stated, "it's a ford"

but your buddies, and possibly a girl or 2, will think you're cool for a few weeks !!!

really hatin raggin on one of my bro's on here, but you ask for more comments ??
more than likely that thing is whooped, and unless you have money to burn on fuel and parts?? i'd pass

first of all you named a bunch of quads, are you talking the beasted out 400ex or what?. second which you have already heard this but that thing is going to drink gas. 3 have you ever heard what a truck driving on the road with swampers sounds like? hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. my friends dad's jeep wouldn't coast over 80mph downhill cause of the tires. and have you ever seen prices on mud tires??? running them on the street kills them and then you pay an arm and a leg for new ones just to burn them up on the street.
IMO i would stick with a newer truck maybe early to late 90's. like a 1500 silverado or something. if you wana lift it and put swampers and stuff on it later go for it but it will be the lift that you want and the tires that you want etc. plus it will be on a modern truck

I agree 100%. I think that much of a lift and that big of tires is an overkill. It is going to kill you on gas..which I know you've heard numerous times. I would get a newer truck and one that isn't lifted that much. Get a jeep or something

yea ive metioned all stated by derek, and i dont think i wanna get it, i wanna get a jeeo grand cherokee 6 cyler put like a 4.5 lift on it and get like 33 or 35 and get likes some all terrian tires

Following my route aren't you lol except my lift is gonna be bigger, don't waste your time on that truck like stated in this thread just not worth it.
And on the gas subject I still have yet to get a job and it sucks, so my mom is paying my gas until I can land a job and well I go through about 40 a week and I fill up when I get to a 1/4 tank it really takes about 60 if I'm riding on empty. I have a 23 gallon tank averaging about 13 ( should be better but I gotta change my driving style) but look forward to spending a lot if you drive a lot
I will admit though I love my jeep to death its awesome and its so beautiful lol I sound so retarded. Also good luck fitting 35s on a 4.5" lift need quite a bit of trimming for that

yea thats why i said 33's first

i think 33's are a perfect size tire because 1 they wont be to harsh for road driving, but yet they will still get the job done in most 4x4 offroad situations

That was my point awk.... if both have the same value now... and both are "toys" i see i higher resale market for a quad cause you can sell it to almost anyone.. but a lifted 4x4 70s ford.. has a smaller amount of people that are looking to buy em... hell i know accountants that ride atvs... suits and ties guys love atv... but it takes a real tanned neck to drive lifted 70s ford... LOL

i like jeeps better then trucks anyway, even though i wouldn thave a bed to haul stuff in............there is just somthing about them that i like

we already have our open trailer, just a black trailer about 10x6 somthing like that, then we have our enclosed trailer, its like 16 feet by 8 feet or sumthing, hah
