total bullshit coming from my parents

my parents went to college full time, both worked full time (40+ hours) and raised me.

and i've worked around 20-30 hours while in school full time (15-20 credits per semester) or 60 hours a week.

while i went to high school i was in band at 7am, and went to school full schedule no bullshit classes, and then played football (practice till around 6pm) and then went home and did my college class homework.

plus did my car work on the side usually till around 2am

Now part of the reason i was able to do this was parents that supported me and never told me i wouldn't succeed in life over something trivial like that. that does seem pretty extreme. it was after i realized how much they'd done for me that i started to work so hard though.

hope for the best, prove them wrong and keep your head up

Im so sorry dude. I need to be more aware of the people around me.

FWIW my posts are very true and i couldnt make that kind of stuff up if I tried.
I'm not looking for empathy or anything like that I am just trying to help you realize that things arent as bad as you may think they are and could be much worse. I wish I was 15 again and had to go to school (hang out and talk to the girls) eat lunch and sleep during the last class of the day.

Right on. I wish I had the chance to apply myself a little harder.
And I am going to have to (and it pains me to do it) agree a little with shee. Man up. Try working 60hrs a week coming home and cleaning the house, cooking supper, making sure the fridge is full and the damn house gets paid for. Somtimes life sucks but you just deal with it. I am not saying this to be mean or a bully but, you need to realize somtimes it is not about you. It is about the bigger picture.

This part is for all my young blaster breathern. Stay in school!!!!! I make a good living at what I do but my son will not be a wrench! I want him to be happy and not destroy his body the way his old man does every day. I am not saying not to do what you enjoy but get and education and a good job.

x2 on that, i know it was mean of them but in the end it is all just being a kid, i went thru it, we all have. i promise you in 20yrs you will look back and be like pffft that was nothing..

If you are a minor, live with your parents that provide for you then they are responsible for you. They can say what they want when they want. They have been your age long before you and have seen what it takes to become an adult. Do you think that they want to see you fail? NO!

Face the facts, you don't have the knowledge that they do. They should want you to make something for yourself and it is there right to say whatever they want to you to get you to pull your head out of your ass and make it in life. When was the last time that you did something for them without them asking you to do it?

When you get to be another 10 years older, you will see just where they were comming from, unless you still have the same attitude that you have now. Playtime is just about over, you don't plan to fail, you fail to plan. Now is the time to decide on what path you will take in life, they are doing their job to help guide you.

No you are lazy. It is school, not that hard. Try working 40 hours and going to school full time.

i actually agree with you.

kid, i was 19, married, had a kid, going to college, working 2 jobs to support the family, wife split and left me with my daughter,
who i raised alone, and she just finished law school.

get over it, stop whining and clean the dam car!

all of this generation is lazy asses.
i hear my kids friends, how they talk to they're parents, it sickens me,
i wouldnt have any teeth if i spoke to mine that way.

my kids understand, work first, play second. period and its not negotiable

i feel like if some of you kids have it as bad as you think you do, you wouldnt be on this site because you wouldnt have a blaster. let alone the internet. or a computer. or a car.

This day and age a trade might be better, plumber, electrician, HVAC. Everyone and their brother goes to college and when they all graduate there is only soo many jobs per grad. My pop is a plumber and I grew up helping him. I graduated near the top of my class in HS with a 3.5 something GPA and had my pics at any college but I didnt go b/c I knew it was a waste of my time. I am a licensed plumber now (after 4 yerars of night school and working full time during the day) and Im glad I did what I did. All my buddies that went to college are now not working or working part time at a grocery store just to pay for gas.

wow talk about a lot of drama. Im 15(bout 16) and i get called names but i laugh at it cause i take it as a compliment. Im not that lazy, but im not the most helpful. I go to schhol at 7. (school ends at 3) Go weight lifting till 4:30. Get picked up do homework study for a lil. Do what needs done. thats about it. And in school i gave Straight c's beside A in Gym, and B in Geographic Info System. Ha sounds like a boring life. It is but i find it fun

i was seventeen when i had my first. 2 jobs, school, and barely makin it. now after a couple of years i own alot more than wat i had when i left my moms house( a basket of cloths). All i can say is work your ass off, even when you think you cant anymore and prove em wrong. I think the first step twads this would be to apologize (even if you dont think you should) and get that d up!!! good luck man

Being told that your going to fail at life and that you will get no where in life is absolutely heartbreaking, I just got told off. Telling me I have no work ethic because I said "I don't feel like cleaning the car, I'm tired". People get tired when they come home from a week of school, it's normal to come home tired, something my parents just don't understand... Someone has to agree with me? please comment!!

thats kinda sh*tty. but compared to working all day and doing physical work, sitting in a desk isnt that tireing. i thought school was kinda tireing, but then i got a co-op job where i swept dusty floors and lifted drywall all day. i ended up goin to bed at 8:30 just so i could wake up in the mornin without being completely exhausted. ive been told im a failure by my parents, but thats only when there tired and mad. just dont worry about it and it will all go away.
