TORS and Carb BS

The threads on the cap itself looked good. I actually know a thing or 2 about threads because Im a pipe fitter and constantly threading and screwing (when I have work)

Ok next question When I go to do a plug chop and get this thing jetted right when the new carb comes in. Where do I start? are the new main jets universal size or do I need to order them especially for the OKO 28mm? Is the one that comes with it gonna serve me right with the light mods I have? And if its bigger can I take my air box lid off and try a plug chop?

Ok Im gonna ask again more clearly is the main jet going to be bigger on my OKO 28mm carb? I read somewhere that the kehin (sp?) jets fit it. If the Jet that comes with it isnt right what should be a good jet size to start with?

I would tell ya what sizes would work but know that the stocker and the other brand (can't think of the name) use different #'s for jets and I'm not familar enough to give you a size to start with. But you will wanna start rich and work leaner to find the best jet. (bigger # to smaller) Hope that helps you some, Some one more familar would now the size numbers.

Keihin carbs I know they use higher numbers than the Makuti? (think thats right) carb. Thinking it might be around 310 or a 320 main jet for stock motor, BUT NOT positive thou.

Thanks I just read the sticky threads on carb jetting for the second time and its still hard to comprehend. Hopefully I can figure it out to a point and run with it. Im guessing I will just have to start tinkering when the new carb gets here and hope I dont screw the whole thing up somehow. Now Im starting to wish I would have spent a little more on a "more complete" machine and not had any of these problems... But what would I learn then?

Ya know what you mean, I'm off on the jet sizes after rereading the jetting stickies. I was thinking it was the keihin that had the high # jets. But it might be a different after market carb that uses those numbers. Sorry if I confused you on jet sizes.
Had jetting issues on kids blaster once, It had an after market exhaust. Thing just bogged in midrange, drove me crazy trying to get the thing running right.

noooooooo. these use the lower number jets. i imagine you'll end up somewhere around a 140 main and a 40 pilot. there are enough guys on here running these carbs you should be able to get a more precise starting point
