toomey vs fmf

you want to go faster so you want to get a raptor 250,350,300ex or a 400ex only one your gana go faster on is the 400ex. 300ex's are just turds raptor 350s arnt anything and i never rode a 250 but if i wasnt impressed with a 350 why would i be with a 250. if you put thousands into your blaster to get where its at now your doing something wrong imo. ive hardly put any into mine and it wasnt the nicest thing when i got it.

Ok hudack, what was the raptor 350 and honda 300ex like. U said u weren't impressed with the 350 and the 300 was a "turd" so give me the details on them. What did u like and what didn't u like.

i don't like the feel of a 4 stroke as much as a 2 stroke. i like the explosiveness of a 2 stroke in the pipe, but the way i ride, the 2 stroke is a way better fit. if i had a 4 stroke i'd have to cam it and stuff to try to make it behave like a 2 stroke

.. ok 4cfeds input.... you want a4 stroke ill trade you straight up for my 200x, ill even kick you $100 just be cause, a 300ex isnt that fast but they are fun, torquey quads that will wheelie for days!!!!
rappy 350 and warrior or the same machine for the most part, if had 2 warriors and traded them both for honda 200x 3 wheelers, 400ex... 400ex is gonna kick the crap out of a blaster, im sorry thats a fact, unless the 400ex is ragged out and needs a rebuild a mild blaster wont touch it

as for the pipe, the pipe is not the problem, the problem is the rider, iv rode on tight trails with stock pipe, fmf, AND a lrd pipe, if the toomey come son to high in the rpm for you gear down to rev faster or to put tit lightly learn to ride,

your clutch is your friend, use it!! 2 stroke machine, be one gear lower than you think you should be, let the motor rev, if you start to bog slightly coming out of a corner, crack the clutch real quick well grabbin a hand full of throttle and shower everything behind you with a roost!!!

iv owned many many many machines, you just need to learn how your machine responds, iv got almost 15 hours on the ice on my 200x, stick me on ANY machine and it will take me all f 5 minutes to adjust my riding style and adapt to the machine

some people need a auto quad... try out a trail blazer 250 or 400 both full auto 2 strokes, let the cvt do the work for you just like a sled clutch

Idk guys... for now I'm keeping th blaster but if something pops up that I want and I can trade it for it then it might go =( but we will see if it gets that far. I really like the sound of a 4 stroke tho, especially with a hmf pipe. Its music to my ears, I love the sound of a 4 stroke with that pipe

ill take my fmf megamax2 over a hmf any day of the week

And what about a warrior everyone? I never mentioned I wanted 1 of them. How are they?

they handle better than a stock blaster 300ex can wheelie for days like fed said same with a 250ex they wheelie forever. the raptor 350 was better with power than the 300ex and handles better but me and my friend were always side by side before i even got my fmf pipe but it dont have that punch that i like when the powerband kicks in on the 2 stroke. im not a 4 stroke fan i like the high reving of a 2 stroke the srceaming ear periceing sound spend some more time riding learn where the powerband kicks in falls flat where it bogs what gears good for what. i got mine down to a science 3rd gears amazing for I:I but il gurantee you will miss the blasty.

you need to ride some newer 4 strokes son lol..

hell im willin to bet im pullin 8500-9500 rpms out of my 200x.. i rev er to the moon.. 2 stroke is in my blood

See I'm not about speed tho, I'm about power, pure arm pulling wheelying power. That's why I want a 4 stroke. But they are harder to fix when something goes wrong I will admit that. The blasters are so simple that there is only a hndfull of things that can go wrong compared to a 4 stroke like the ones I've listed. Why would you take ur fmf over hmf fed? Have u tried hmf? I want instant power, I'm not a speed freak like most. My blaster does have power but way up in the rpms and that sucks for trail riding. And in the suspension I'm sure that the quads I've listed that I want have a better suspension than the blaster. My blaster is a rough ride through some of my trails. I rode my dads polaris sportsman 500 ho through the same trail and it was like riding on a cloud lol. I know the quads I want don't have the suspension of my dads but still. Its gotta be better than the blaster

Your blaster doesn't have arm pulling wheely power?! I've riden wheelies completely acrossed baseball fields and roads. I think half the time riding my front wheels are off the ground. It's just all about knowing how to maneuver that powerband.

Mine will wheelie but it doesn't until way up in the rpms where I get my power. I want something that when I hit the gas, boom its got the power. That's what, I guess, a 4 stroke does. My blaster just doesn't pull til ur high in the rpms which ill say again sucks in the trails.

OK, dude. I've read this whole thread and I chimed in on the last one too. It's this simple....if your mildly modded Blaster with a Toomey doesn't pull a first and/or second gear wheelie AT LEAST....from low RPMs...then something is wrong with your quad (or the rider, sorry).

My 94 is very similar to yours and I can pop off-idle wheelies all day long. It's such a torquey little bastard that that's really all I like to do on it. Putt, putt,...wheelie! Hellacious fun.

The only diff I see that might matter is the carb, and quite likely tuning/jetting. This is with 13/40 gears and a stock length swingarm. So what is it? Do you wanna go fast on the top end or do you want low end power? And frankly, a well tuned blaster with 14/40 should do both.

mine with an f7 pipe will do this to a grab bar taking off in 2nd or 3rd........and its not exactly known to be a really low end pipe.
