hey guys is have a 01 blaster completely stock. i rebuilt and cleaned the carb. I reassembled the carb too the TORS and noticed my throttle has a ton of play (almost nothing the needle in the carb moves slightly when i hit the throttle). is it possible something in thee TORS and or the throttle came loose?

x2 thats your problem
you did not get the cylinder slide in the carb the right way, unscrew the top of the carb and when you put it back together make sure you line up the groove on the slider the right way.

yea i did that, i dont think the slide will go into the carb if its not lined up right?

on a stock carb there is a little groove the pin must go into i dont think it will go in unless its lined up. i think you didnt hook the cable back into the slide the right way, OR never tightened up the part that holds the cable adn needle

im thinking something came loose somewhere along the lines. i never disconnected the cabe from the slide or anything like that but you still think its possible it came loose somehow when i took it apart?

Is it possible that you didn't get the needle into the jet hole when you put the slide in?

no its in the jet hole but only lifts a tiny bit when i hit the throttle. basically my needle doesnt move up and all i did was disconnect the cap from the carb. it worked before i took it off perfectly. could i have messed the spring up? its supposed to compress all the way when you reinstall it right?

The needle should go all the way in. The slide should cover most of the throat bore. If you don't see this, then you prob have the slide in 180 degrees out. Take it out and turn it til it slides all the way in.

i think it is in all the way. should the needle be going through the jet inside or should the tip be just a little bit off of the jet? ill take pics later if i still cant figure it out.......

You mean go through the main jet down in the float bowl? I never looked....Regardless, if the slide is down all way, then that should be fine.

Maybe someting came loose inside the TORS switch box on top of the carb.

the the TORS cover off (the bigger pannel ) and the throttle wire might of poped out of the thing that catches it ,sorry i know its a bad explaination but if you take it apart and look you'l see what im on about

i figured it out........needle wasnt in all the way.. it idles fine but when i hit the throttle it boggs or lags early on then clears up when i get into higher gears ne ideas??

Sounds like the pilot jet. Check to see if it is plugged. Yeah I know you already cleaned it but it has a really tiny hole that plugs easily. Spray it out with carb cleaner and look through it, you should be able to see a nice round hole when you hold it up to the light. Also spray the passage, making sire it comes out the carb throat.
