I got a blaster today for $680.. It leaks gas from the float, the clutch isn't stalling when you give it no gas and release the clutch, it in fact went faster. And now I'm finding out the exhaust he put on was never jetted..Kill switch and light is disconnected and I don't even see any terminals to attatch a battery to..And this guy says in his ad the quad works fine.. I have no idea what I got myself into considering I don't know how to do this stuff :l mechanic prices are gonna kill me..

Oh well.. It'll take time to get running right... I've only got $120 left to my name...

It does not need a Battery .

I'm utterly confused.. Never owned a two stroke before, always rode automatic(But I know how to use clutch)..

Thought it'd be a good deal for $680 cause the parts that'd I'd put in would be new, instead of spending a grand more on maybe a 2005 with all used parts in it..
I can do a carb by myself. Clutch no way..

Where are you located maybe a member can help your personally ?

Northern NJ.. I don't want to give out my exact location.. But my dad had a mechanic down the street do his harley and the guy does about everything too,I bet he can do a two stroke quad..

I'm just really frustrated with this right now. I buy a quad, and I can't even ride it when the guy said it's good! Never buying off craigslist again I swear.

You just need to read and learn about these machines before you give up , There are some members in that area , The Stock main jet in carb should be a 230 , you need to figure what has been done to know the jetting , Airbox lid on or off , what type and brand of air filter , then you can go from there

Not to add insult to injury, but a simple test ride would have given u a clue as to what u were gettin urself into ya know?

I test rode it in first gear since I didn't know much about clutch at the purchase.. But the guy went up and down my 850ft driveway 3 times with no problems with clutch or letting it stall.. Is it just me? Even when I test rode it, I could decipher any of these problems. It looked good when he was riding it..

And its an FMF Turbine Core 2 slip on exhaust.

Once you start lookin into how these machines work you will find they are a lil simpler than u think... There are many how to videos on youtube and this forum, pretty much enough of them to tackle about any problem you can think of... But don't just watch one vid on a problem, watch a few because many ppl do it differently

It's not that I don't want to do it, I love working with things hands on, but I don't trust myself to do these things..

blasters are about as complicated as a rock!!! the bikes needs a little tlc!

the carb leaking fuel start with that!
you can buy a carb kit for about 15 or 20 bucks of ebay! rebuild it your self look in the do it yourself section!

clutches arnt that complicated either there also relivily inexpensive to purchase an its aftermarket maybe 30 -40 vucks you can do it yourself as well look at the do it yoursekf section in the fourm its not that hard

as for it taking off when u let go of the clutch I would say maybe a sticky throttle or something maybe an air leak!

don't freak out yet u still haven't lost out don't over think it!
you can do it an do it correctly yourself don't sell your self short

also contact member slickerthanyou an get a leakdown tester an test it for air leaks!

its simple to work on these machine try first before putting outragoues money into a machanic

If you do take the project on, anytime you get confused there are many people here to help... If there are members close enough to you, you can proly arrange for someone to come "help" you.... Many ppl here are more than willing to help out

I know. I'm just going to have to do it myself. I did see whole clutch kit for 40 bucks. Carb I can defiantly do with my dad. I was told an airleak by another member so I'll check that out

Yeah Slick's leak down tester is a great product and he ships super fast... There are also how to's for the tester on here and Slick is more than willing to help you through the process

Alright. I'm gonna take a look at that. But how was the guy riding it fine when he sold it to me?
