you should of seen mine after the last hare scramble dirrrrrty

but i washed it that night :D

Haha...with a good coating it will wash off very easy.

I need someone to do me a favor....see how hot a blaster engine gets. I wanna see if it's worth custom powder coating or not.

I wanna do the fins in a design cut in them that looks like a chain...i saw pics of one before but i can't remember where it is

Chrome powder needs a clear coat...if not the metal comes to the surface in chrome powder and turns black with the least minute scratch. After laying the clear, it turns it more silver/gray. I've sprayed it a dozen or more times and achieved the same result with different manufacturers.

I got time...lots of it...how many people have went as far as polishing a frame? I'm the only jackass to attempt it...and it WILL be done! Muahahahahahaha

Sooo whats precautions can be taken to keep the frame from rusting or losing the sheen? Clear coating it? I heard when stripped or sand blasted they will rust up quickly... Just a thought. But i wire wheeled off a couple spots temporarily to weld my master cylinder bracket and to groung the welder i have yet to see it lose its shine in those spots and its been a month.

I got some high gloss clear coat and that will go over the bare metal....any exposed metal will rust up quickly. Some metal from the factory have a coating on them shich inhibits the spread of rust for a little while. once you bust through that top layer on the metal, it's done....rust will hit it hard. Even fingerprints will rust up. Touch some bare metal and wait a few days and go look....you'll see your fingerprint. Everything that is bare will be coated on this. I am shooting to have everything looking like chrome before I put the transparent orange on it to make it shine under the orange topcoat.

The wife is at the drawing table making up a rear master cylinder bracket that will be welded to the frame with a custom design cut. It will be one of a kind...I'll make it and post up pics this weekend. Got the rest of the gussets cut out...

Here is the custom bracket made with some left over plate metal i have from the gussets. The bracket out area will be cut out, and possibly beveled on the edges. There will also be a hole cut in the bracket for the line coming in for the reservoir. next i will make something to hold the reservoir

Also where the 2 mounting bolt holes are, I will weld a nut to the back side and use an allen head bolt to secure it.

what do you all think? It will also serve as somewhat of a gusset for that as well.

Thanks dude....now that I got nothing but time, I'm totally customizing sh*t. That ugly bar with the holes in it on the left side on the rear of the frame, I'm thinking about cutting that out and replacing it with some tubing to match the rest of the frame. Or...maybe something off the wall...who knows?
