The build has begun!

Well right now I have a broken down car I have to get running in almost single digit weather...as soon as that is figured out, then i'll start on the Blaster again LOL

Just really milking the morning for a little more sun in hopes to stay somewhat warm! I have a spark issue I'm trying to track down in a Geo Metro for the wife...I hate computer controlled cars!

Here's pics of roundhouse coversion on stock banshee square tubing....
Done by a friend on another forum.

hmm thats a nice looking conversion...but still may be heavy....works tho!! hate yamahas idea for adjusting the chain...

What do you guys think of this swingarm design? Looks a little beefy...definitely would hold up. I'm thinking the tubing design would be more lightweight? This would definitely put the rubber to the road tho...the shock design is what i would change to the tabs instead of the bar design.

looks heavy, but strong....LSR makes em like that sort of...somebody needs to add a shock link design to the suspension for better ride quality...just my opinion...

How much did that swinger weigh Phragle? I like it...strong and looks great! I saw a design today of an oval tube swinger. Them look good too. I'm gonna have to come up with a good design.

So that shock location on the swinger gave you 12" of travel ey? Hmm...thinking that mounting the shock lower in the swinger makes for more travel? trying to learn the geometry thing here with the swingarms and shock locations. Maybe put the shock up a little further in the swingarm, but lower?

links suck on quads IMO.. the shock mount was built like that because with the location of the mount, you couldn't slide a bolt thru tabs, that location and that shock = 12" of travel...
i've heard you are a suspension guru of sorts. why dont you like linked setups on quads? banshees, trx250r's, LT250r's, tecates, and every other competetive race quad have a link style setup?

im confused, plus id like to do some crzy work to my LT. like maybe a long travel rear???

Ok...got this much done on the oven today. Me and cootees worked all afternoon on it. Tomorrow I will get in the elements, insulation, walls, and door. Had to weld up a frame to fit inside of the walls where the door mounts for extra support to keep it from sagging

looks good i'd like to build a blast cabinet and a powdercoating oven someday so that i can do all that stuff for myself and maybe even make a couple bucks on the side

You can just go ahead and tear that down, ship it to my address, and be done with it :D

Let me know when you get it all set up. I may send you some parts if you have the time.

Not much...just trying to get this extended swingarm figured out and all lined up for the welding. I will be working more on it this week as far as stripping and what not and getting this oven the rest of the way up so I can start powder coating. Still got alot of things to buy...gotta save some cash now. This is aimed to be done by May-June. I am going to buy an anti vibe steering stem, extended a-arms, and the rest of the stuff to finish out the hydro conversion on the front and rear.

Got the swinger grinded, measured, and welded into place. Need to weld some more, but i wanted to see how it looked before I disassembled it again. This is extended 3"
