I only have a slide phone now nothing fancy. I'm going to upgrade to something better. What phone should I go with? How much more will it be to get unlimited internet on the phone?

Keep two things in mind:

I have T-mobile. Had them forever. So only phones they have available.

I dont want a huge phone. Something that fits in my pocket.

Any ideas?

i have a samsung jack for at&t, got it from techblaster on here, and at&t caught up with me, seems the smartphones identify themselves to your provider,so i had to get a data plan, 200megs a month for $15 extra, i think unlimited was $60

The iphone 4g doesnt have unlimited from what I understand.
Personally having used the iphone and andriod devices I favor android over the iphone.
Then add the whole tyranny that apple holds over information and sharing and it just pisses me off. Why should I have to pay for a song which is only compatible with apple related products.. They can lick the back side of my sack and get with the times.
Android makes some very nice devices and theyre getting faster/better by the week it seems like.
And of course with smart phones you have to pay to play just like anything else. My plan is for 900 minutes unlimited text/internet and roadside assistance (because I drive a jeep daily) and my bill is usually around $110-115 per mo.
At $1300/year + cost of device & accessories it adds up fast.
I enjoy having a smartphone but I also enjoyed using a 5 year old Motorola for $45/month

Go on tmobiles site to find the prices for the data plan. I have unlimited text and picture messaging for $10. But the tmobile g2 is the phone I will be getting soon. But my brother has a iPhone and uses it with tmobile.

Is 200megs a lot?

I may just get a laptop. 40 a month for unlimited internet. And use that when on the road.

have you checked t-mobiles site yet?
they have data plans as little as 10/month
that gets you
The $10/mo. data plan, includes 200MB of data to use for: •Surfing the Web
•Keeping up with e-mail
•Downloading apps, videos and more
Offer available for new activations, and for existing lines with new data service. Existing customers can take advantage of this offer by signing a new 2-year agreement. $10/mo. data plan includes user alerts when approaching 200MB*
use this to see how much data you use a month

as for a tmobile mart phone, here are your chioces Unsupported Browser
personally i would want a phone with android and 4g which is the t-mobile G2 with google and a t-mobile mytouch 4g

but look at those sites to get a feel of what you want.

if you want unlimited talk text and data is is $100/month
the same but with 1500 minutes is 80/month
same with 1000minutes is 90/month, this doesn't make sense
same with 500 minutes is 80/month
Unsupported Browser

personally i think it would be smart to get a family plan
you can get 2 lines with 750 minutes total, unlimited text, unlimited data, free nights and weekend, free mobile to mobile for only $140/month
then you can add upto 3 more lines for $10 a piece. i assume they would also get the same sh*t, but you have to share the minutes.
but unlimited talk, text and data for a family of 2 is $180/month, get 2 more people and that is $200/month or $50 a person.

Sheeblast thanks for taking the time to sort that out. The T mobile site is a pain to sort through with so much stuff that they are trying to sell you. Gave you some rep..

had tmobile for years, only reason was when we got it, it was the only company with unlimited texting.
the bill for 4 lines, all with unlimited text and picture messaging and like 1500 minutes is around $100 for us.
