Hi guys I got couple questions. With all my mods..vito 240 ported by Ken, +3 stuffed crank, 34mm pj, lrd pipe, vforce 4 reeds and other mods would it be wise to run cooler plug. A 9 instead of an 8. Other question..is it worthwhile to advance my timing 4 degrees. What are the pros and cons. do you recommend more I can go as far as 7 degrees. All you blaster pros can help shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance guys.

Do not change the timing

You can only go -/+ 4 degrees either way
Even going 4 is putting your motor at risk of detonation

I do NOT suggest it... It will cause problems. You already have a +3 crank so thats an even worse idea

Stroke of crank has no bearing on whether you advance timing or not. Head design, fuel used, and intended use are what determins amount of timing that can be utilized.

Is your head modified? What compression are you running?

BTW, having a milled or modified head does not advance your timing just because the plug is a couple thou closer. Advancing timing is in the area of "tuning" and can't be accomplished with a keyboard. Advance it a little and see what it does. Check, recheck, "read" your plug, reasearch effects of advance.

As to plug stick with the B8

Advancing a 2 stroke provides no more power it just alters the powerband.

Advancing brings power on at a lower rev, and vice versa.

Detonation is to be watched for and unfortunately while a plug chop will show your jetting, it may not respond to detonation caused by a change in timing.

There is no need to use anything else than a b8es spark plug unless you are using exotic fuels.
