well im going to post a thread for my slow blaster build will include pics later tonight :)

i originally purchased a blaster with bad crank bearings for 150 bucks. well saturday i bought a blaster motor for 120 bucks with a bad topend. im currently in the process of disasembling that motor to build one stock good running motor. while i am running this motor i am sending my top end out to flotek for port polish and bore and all that jazz. by next spring (hopefully) im gonna have toomey exhaust stroker +3 crank vforce 3 reeds upgraded carb hydro brake conversion itp rims and tires 400ex rear 03-06 hood conversion w/ light and a few other things.
since i purchased the bike i purchased banshee front shocks and today i just purchased o-ring chain and both sprockets, AKTIVE reeds, carb rebuild kit & jets, airbox lid ( only because the bike didnt come with one and i ride in water/mud alot ) and a grab bar. thursday evning i am going to strip the frame sand er down repaint it polish rims and paint plastics. im hoping to have everything ready in 2-3 weeks while my extra top end is sent out to flotek.
sorry for the long post just thought i would update since i have only posted questions and thanks lol. ill post pics of the engine tonight. i might also even start to strip the frame tonight
thanks! -Jon

Sounds like a lot of work if u have school or work. Well to get done it 2 or 3 weeks. But ull have fun. I did with mine evn tho I gotta rebuild them. Really make sure ur snorkal of the front dosent fall off like mine did an didn't know. It fried my piston. By sucking in lots of water. Lol

yeah when i send it out i am going to let him know, im also going to list what im going to do so he can help me with jetting as well as exhaust choice. im getting my piston kit from him also, and ty for the advice :] as far as finished in 2 weeks i mean the painted frame/ plastics and the bike running stock :] not with all of the mods hehe :]

so today i tore down the motor's and made one good one lol. ( i hope its good atleast ) and i have the whole bottom end together just in 2 pieces lol im waiting for a nice day to put everything together. and today i got my airbox lid and carb rebuild kit in the mail, just waiting on sprockets/chain and grabbar. ive decided not to go with a stroker yet and just stick with weisco crank and piston for the time being. while i have this motor going (hopefully soon!!) im gonna try to find another case half ( my 2nd one has a big hole in it ) and build it as in vitos BB eventually ( next year or the year after lol) and =4 stroker aswell as all new suspension aarms etc. i dont kno what i want in the long run yet, i just want a fast strong quad :)

i have all my parts in and today i put the motor together new rings new reeds and compression seems good, but ill get numbers tomorrow. mew sprockets in the mail rebuilt the carb, hopefully tomorrow i can get her mounted in the bike and try to start her up ! also i was just wondering but does anyone reccomend any type of oil to use in the bottom half? as well as for mixing it? thanks!

cool man glad ur making progress. i did a similiar project with my blasty, i started with a bare frame off egay and built it slooooowly from there. (took me 7 months :o :o) i like to run klotz benol if you are premixing but supertechniplate is awesome also. in the tranny 10w 30 is pretty standard but some guys run belray gear saver or im going to give type F tranny fluid a go when i change my clutch cover gasket tomorrow.

yeah i just REALLY want this bike running. im shooting for next spring/ summer for final complete rebuild. getting my extra jug sand blasted and sent to flotek in a week or so and that should take 5-6 weeks to finish :] which is perfect cause it gives me enough time to get money for the stroker <3

while i was waiting on parts i filled my crank case with oil and would spin it daily just to make sure everything was good to go. wheni got my bottom end i sh*t you not it was full of ice/water and i did the oil bath and i have run the motor since june with no issues. :D

thats good! im gonna try out ATF type F until i can get to the shop to get better stuff >< well while i was waiting on parts i was re asembling the bottom end so by the time i got all the parts i got everythign on the bike! when i get home gonan change the carb needle and bolt her up to the frame connect all the cables and hope she starts <3 lol. ty for the advice :)

lmao pics tonight i have to start cleaning out my work area ( 3/4 of my room) i dont have a garage so i put a big ass folding table in the center of my room and i have parts laying EVERYWHERE lol. ill post pics i promise!

right on right on........i tried atf and had no problems...but i am going back to 10/30 because thats what yamaha recomends ......i might run atf thru it once in a while to clean it out but that prolly it.....cant wait to see those pics...
