Okay guys I was wanting to get a vitos 240 but people have probleems with them, Im wondering which would produce more H.P. and just all around faster, A vitos 240 kit or a stock cylinder with port and polish and a L.A. sleeve? and piston?

Okay, 120 for sleeve, 150 for re sleeve, 150 for piston, 50 for gaskets and all, then 210 for head mod and port job, hmmm idk?

Yeah I've heard a lot of people talk about how quick their vito's bbk sh*t the bed ... You can get a L.A. sleeve brand new on ebay for $100, have it pressed in by a machine shop for around $150, then get a good port and polish done for like $150 ish. If you go that route you'll be saving a good chunk of change and have around the same, if not more hp and it'll be a hell of a lot more reliable for you. You could even get your head worked and still save some $ over the vito's and be runnin 240's off the trail.

Alright, just to dispell the myths that are flying around..... A vito's cylinder is basically a recast stock cylinder (new casting but exact same shape and amount of aluminum heatsink). With exactly the same amount of metal to absorb the heat, a vito's cylinder is no more likely to have any trouble than a stock cylinder.

If anyone was having problems with a vito's cylinder it was probably from running it without a leakdown test or proper jetting.

The ONLY problem which was not riders fault that I've ever seen is Blasterfreek's "spun" sleeve on a vito's cylinder. I've never seen another one like it either and it wasn't his fault.

Basically, you're in the same price range and risk of having problems whether you're doing a sleeved cylinder or a vito's cylinder. One thing to note, the stock vito's porting is rather mild so in order to extract maximum power from that cylinder, you'll need to get it ported too....

Blasterr, are you rocking a stock jug and head now? Why would you jump to a BBK without first trying on a little portwork on the engine you currently have? You're truly putting the cart before the horse if you're talking about going to a BBK while still riding on a bone stock blaster engine.

Putting in that bigger top end kit.

If you do that, you might make sure the bottoem end, is in great shape. thats allot more stress on the crank and brearings. not to mention the gears.

The LA Sleeve BBK should be the best of the BBK. I watched one for the KOR videos this weekend and he went over the differences between the stock, Vito's and LA Sleeve cylinders and head. Something else to check out is the CT Racing BBK, it comes with everything (ported cylinder, modded head, pipe, silencer, carb, intake, reeds, air box adapter, air filter and jets) for about $1000.

The LA sleeve replacement cylinder (the funky shaped one that uses the 250R intake and reedblock) is QUITE the upgrade and certainly the best option. It's also the most expensive option...

The CTRacing "Big Bore complete package" for $929 (I'm assuming what you're referring to) is a resleeve of your stock blaster cylinder complete with 1970's port layout, stock reed cage, and stock amount of aluminum/design cooling fins.

The CT racing "Sonic Big Bore 240" kit (which they don't currently have a price available on their website for!) is a worked LA sleeve 240 kit that uses the 250R reed cage and everything. Considering LA sleeve's price just went from $550 to nearly $900 I doubt very seriously that you're going to get CT Racing's complete package for anything less than nearly $2,000. Considering the sale price of a blaster (even with every bell and whistle) is rarely $2,000 itself, it's hardly worth the money unless you're at the utmost top level of racing.

Okay Im running a stock motor now, but I have a complete extra motor im building up. So im thinking 3 mil stroker, 240 kit or sleeve, KOR aggressive trail p&p, head mod to run 93, flywheel lightened, . Think itll beat a z400 lol?

I think Ken can do a vito's kit for $6-700? Using your jug. This will be the blasties next implant! La Sleeve is over a grand as said! Nothing wrong with vitos, Even though I have seen a couple cylinders spin, +3 stuffer block explode, But those incidents, Your bound to have a couple failures when ya mass produce stuff! I have no problems with most of Vitos stuff!

That's kind of what I was getting at. A stock bore engine with a stroker crank, heavy porting, rechambered head, top end pipe and large diameter carburetor will run right with a Z400. Power to weight wise, you only need like 30hp out of a blaster to run with most 400 class quads. Now, because their power comes in differently traction might be a little issue.... but overall power to weight is REALLY in the blaster's favor....

I know someone who has a crazy ported Vitos! :p

I know someone who got a KILLER deal in trade for a stock bore cylinder (really, who wouldn't trade a stock bore cylinder for a vito's BBK?!) too man.

Until you've really exceeded the limit of the ability of the stock bore cylinder (and there's a LOT of ability in a stock bore cylinder too!) you don't really need to go BBK.

Yes, I was referring to the package for $929 (+ return shipping). It would be the best value for someone who was building a stock Blaster to a 240cc. It comes with;
Re-sleeving your cylinder with a big bore sleeve, CT porting, head re-chambering, modified big bore piston kit, Keihin 35mm PWK pre-jetted carburetor, air box adapter tube, throttle cable, TDR reeds,CT Sonic pipe and silencer, top-end gasket set.
That's a good value for someone spending for $150 for porting, $60 for head work, $55 for boring and $125 for a Wiseco top end set and $250 re-sleeving back to 66mm ($100 for the sleeve and $150 to have it installed). The OP asked about a Vito's BBK or an LA Sleeve for the stock cylinder. He's looking at $600 to $650 for just the topend rebuild and will still be needing a good exhaust and carb to get all the porting and head can give. An extra $300 to $350 for a new right bend exhaust, 35mm PWK carb, carb adapter and reeds is a better deal. And the LA Sleeve BBK is $1189 L.A.SLEEVE Store . You must be thinking about just having the OEM cylinder sleeved L.A.SLEEVE - ATV / UTV - BLASTER 200 to 240 Big Bore Kit .
