should i swap for a raptor 250?

honestly i think if its a straight up trade, no money, then yes. i have heard that the stock raptor is much better overall then a stock blaster although it is a bit slower. plus its a 2010, if you didnt like it you could sell it a buy another blaster with some extra cash.

Im not sure what answer you were looking for since you are asking it in a Blaster Forum, Kinda like going to a Chevrolet Dealership and asking the salesman should I buy that Corvette on the sales floor or should i get the Cobalt. But like everyone says it depends on what you want, but a 4 stroke will cost you more to repair than a 2 stroke.

have yall even rode a raptor 250?

rode a piped and jetted 350 wasnt impressed he alwasy wants to ride my blaster not the other way around lol and i got 5 inch wheel spacers in the back no problems at all i got the ones wher u gota knock ut the studs

I know I am new, but this thread caught me off guard. The Blaster is the same bike that Joe Margaria won two GNCC two stroke A races on?

With the right tuning these little bikes make the ideal pocket rocket ride, and is there anything more fun than cornering on a blasty?

In regards to reliability, I run new trans fluid after every couple of rides, fresh gas and a new plug. My bike is the indisputed single kick starter.

There is no substitute for the vintage look, the chainsaw like aggressive rev and the surprise on your friends face when they find out it is only a 200cc. All your Blaster needs is a little TLC and you'll love it. Or sell it to a real ratchet head and charge your raptor electric start battery while the real riders float the dunes. Nothin but love dude.

Welp, today i did the trade. What have i done!!!lol jk. rappy is really fun, newer, better handling.Might not be as fast in a straight line but hey for me its worth it :P

i prob would of done it too the only reason is is that the rappy is newer and prob a lil nicer and better handeling but i prob would regret it

i would've done it if my blasty was pretty stock, you can always get more out of a rappy than a blaster if you don't like it

reliability has a direct correlation to maintenance so if you have problems with your blaster, you'll probably have problems with the rappy 250

its up to you though, if you like the rappy better.....do the swap

gota disagree with you there. you see my quad and my work, directly related to how its maintained and this biotch still gets me mad from time to time.

I happen to have an LTR450 and raptor 660, and I can say no matter what you'll tinker with it if you like mods. long travel will be one of the most expensive things alot of guys add. power only costs that much when you go big like big bore, stroker porting cams, the works... I'd just keep the 2 stroke. I'm considering getting a blaster since they're so cheap to get parts for lol. if I got a 450 again, the honda would be at the top of my list as the new ones have reverse and parts are easier to come by.

If my 250r comes out as good as I hope I'm probably gonna get rid of my LTR actually lol. and either race ride MX on the 250r or trail/mud the 660. may end up MXing the raptor if/when the 250r is down...

reliability = maintenance like said. I'm constantly putting money into fixing my 4 strokes things break /story lol. oil changes get expensive, I have two bikes I'm constantly changing oil, both bikes cost me $30-40 per oil change. you do it pretty much every 2 rides..

I wouldn't get rid of my Blaster for anything but since this post is really interesting I thought I would try and contribute. Even though I have gotten hit for posting on old threads before.
Honda is lining up a 250 which will probably be really cool. Kawasaki is also lining up a bike. Eventually there will be a number of these bikes and the market will change. I have no idea what the horsepower rating is for these bikes but I am betting they come in below 30 horses. If so, than a Blaster with a modded motor will forever outrun these new breed quads. I have always just came to the conclusion that if I was going to go small than I would want something that would surprise the other riders. The Blaster is that bike, but the bike certainly has it's limitations.

There both really good I've had a blaster now a Raptor the blaster is a bit faster but the raptor is lighter, Personally I like the feel of the raptor better but like everybody said It's up to you and your preference
