hey guys i just got a job down at our local yamaha dealer so i got some income now and i plan on putting most of it towards my blaster. one of the first things i wanna improve is the shocks because well the stock ones arent too hot.I:I anyway will you guys help me out on deciding the right shocks for me.i plan on at some point having both the front and rear shocks replaced so give me your opinion for both please. i really dont wanna spend more than 400 bucks if i dont have to but anyway please help me out here i want something that will be good for the money and will bring nice improvement to the handling of the ol blasty. tell me what ya thinkI:I

You can go with a nice set of used Works Brand shocks on the front and a 400ex shock on the rear. You may get lucky and find a rear used works shock or get REAL lucky and find a good deal on Elka brand shocks used.

Yea probably a stock 400ex shock for the rear one like this: 1999 99 Honda TRX400 400EX TRX 400 EX TRX400EX Rear Shock Suspension | eBay
And if you don't want to spend that much banshee front shocks work pretty good for the front but are a minor improvement

Search this forum. This topic is beat to death on a regular basis.

Didn't mean to sound rude in this post bro. Just saying you are going to get a lot of different answers and this question gets asked very often. I would search "better shocks" or "upgrade shocks" and form your own opinion. You will be reading for days!

Well if your at a yamaha shop get some good used yfz fronts. For the rear as a good cheap upgrade that works well is a 400 rear..

Choose wisely, the YFZ450 shocks are somewhat longer than Blaster shocks and may require the fitting of a lowering kit.

i just recently put a 400 rear in my blaster and took it to the trails this past sat. and it was amazing until a friend of mine blew my piston hahahaha but the 400 ex rear shock is prob the best upgrade on a blaster
