These front stock shocks were killing me with the color and the fact they been painted like 6 times and were nasty when i got them so i had to do something in the mean time until i get new ones.
Rigged the springs up on the 40 ton press. It didnt take much pressure to compress the springs, but enough to make it extremely dangerous if something slips. Removed the springs and wire wheeled the nasty paint off the shocks and springs. Polished the chrome up with Steel wool and "Mothers" chrome polish. Painted the springs with satin black. Rode about 100 miles afterwards on gravel and dirt roads and the paint held up great.
