Ok so as most of you know my wife is preg ( i say wife cuz might as well be and were gettin married in june)

she still would like to ride quad's and i been thinking about it, and i dont think i want her riding, i told her before its ok and she can do some trail riding with me, but she cant ride hard which she dont anyways...

but i think i dont want her riding any more, .... whats your guys thoughts on this?????.... im thinking, sell her quad, and buy me another toy to keep me and the boy busy, and have some cash left over, or trade it for another toy for me, and buy her a nice comfy auto quad after the baby comes..

how can i bring this up to her with out her flippin out on me???

umm well for starters I would have her easy on the riding unless you feel the trip is life threatening, i would keep the blaster, because if you still have it when the kid is old enough to ride... I think it is a good starter quad...

blaster will prob be long gone by than, she isnt the 'best of riders' she tipped her trail boss over twice this winter on the lake, and my old blaster was the fastest thing she has ever rode and it scared her... she likes auto quads....

im just confused on what to do, i dont want her gettin hurt and riskin hurting the baby, but i dont want to stop her from riding if she wants to, even though she has yet to ride with me in over 2 months!!

I get that you are a little worried/concerned for the unborn child, but seems to me like you are making a hasty decision on a whim. Meaning, give it some time, don't always be apt to trade for something else so quickly. You might have the better half of the deal in your garage all along.

Besides, unless you got 2-3k to spend on a "comfy" quad, I doubt anything you can trade your blaster or whatever other machine you traded for lastweek will get you anything remotely in better shape than what you got already.

Good shape "safe" auto 2wd quads are hard to come by, much less anyless than 2500k.

Just my 2 cents though, glad to see you're looking out for the baby nonetheless.

personally i wouldnt want my wife riding quad if she was prego. waaaaay to much on the line to risk it. just ask your doctor he/she will tell you exactly whats up

I don't think its up to you. If your wifes doctor doesn't have a problem with her riding, then she should be able to ride

I agree, it's just as much his child and he's doing the right thing by putting the child's safety first. I don't think the bumping and shaking will do anything harmful to the baby as long as it's mild, but an accident could be devastating. If she hasn't ridden with you in over 2 months, I wouldn't bring it up. She may not be thinking about it, which could potentially save you from an arguement. I know how those hormones can get crazy...especially when they are carrying a girl. Anyways...try to slide it in during some 4-wheelin' talk. Maybe just bullshit about plans for yours or whatever, then ask her if there is something that she would like instead of the blaster. Something more comfortable and an automatic. I'm sure you know how sensitive they can sometimes be when they are prego. So make it sound more like you are interested in what she wants, not needs. God forbid you tell a pregnant woman what she needs...haha.

This is all based off my experience with my wife during the pregnancy of our son and the experience gained while she is currently carrying our daughter. Your wife may react differently or have a completely different personality.

I would also hold off on selling the blaster. If you try to trade it for something more for yourself, she might take that as you being selfish. I could be completely wrong though.

we have had her blaster for what? almost 2 months??? she has about 3 min of seat time, 2 wheeks ago in the back yard when i made her practice startin it and taken off from a dead stop, she is not so good on a maunal trans,

we have the first dr apt tommrow ( had to wait a month to get it to see doc.. sweet huh??). I am honestly not so worryed about her riding ability.. just the 'sh*t happens' factor.. look at 2smoker? i think thats who it was when the guy on the cr500 ran him off the trails... she wouldnt be able to handle a crash like that...

as for getin her a ulility/sport after the baby comes.. she likes trail boss's adn them and trail blazers can be had for 1500 or less.. there are 304 boss's on CL here for 700-1000 right now...

she knows im not tryingt o gt rid of her quad for toys for me, she knows what ever i get she can ride to,.. she knows if i trade hers off sometime she will end up with something better in the long run

well.. to add to this decision... she is gettin fmla papers filled out by her doc tommorw ( family medical leave something) were if she is sick, or in pain w/e she can stay home from work with out loosing her job or gettin in trouble for missing work..

her resoning is all the back pain she is having, and being sick, and stomach pains......................... soo im thinkin her not riding is a god damn valid idea right now.. she only like 2 months along or so and all ready having prblems

Good idea. Is this your first child? My wife's first pregnancy was ok, pain here and there, tired a lot, the usual I guess. But this one is a pain in the ass! Moody, cravings, tired...you name it, she seems to have had it! Sometimes it starts out rough and everything smooths over. Varies too much from one woman to the next...lol

no this is our second.. we have a adrenaline junky of a 2 year old to.. loves bikes, loves 3 and 4 wheelers and cars!! yells cuz his power wheels truck dont go fast enough and he cant do donuts with it!!!

first one seemed to be 'normal' cravings, not to moody tell late in the preg, watched to much baby shows on tlc!!!

this time around she has back pain and gets pains in ner stomach now and then... so if she is this sore now some relaxed trail riding wont make things any better

i work at a snowmobiling tour place and we do not let ANY pregnant women ride because it can cause fetal damage. if you have any common sense you should tell her flat out no riding, easy or not. im sure the doctors will agree and back you up

There was no riding for my wife while pregnant. All that bouncing around can't be good.We never asked the doctor though, just figured it would be a bad idea.

Like mr said The first 3 months of the pregnancy are high risk for miscarriages...me n the mr were just having this convo a few days ago...in case i ever get prego. I wouldn't let her ride just for the fact of harming the baby. She may feel like shes ok to ride but the vibrations and jolting and bumps just cant be good. But as for selling the blaster...if you do...I would let her spend the money...or maybe spend it on something new for the baby. Selling it and spending it on yourself could be kinda selfish...especially when she has to just sit back and watch you have all the fun while she has back pain, nausea, cramps and all the goodies that come along with pregnancy. buying yourself something new might be kinda rubbing it in her face. anyways...You should buy her a present....then tell her your concerns and how you feel. I cant ever be mad at mr when he buys me a present...lol

technicly... sellin it and buying w/e for me is my choice, i have the wrench time into the quad..,.... to get up to speed.. i bought the trail boss for $350 bucks.. had to put the racks and plastics back on, and fix the recoil, i bought my 2001 blaster, and let her have the trail boss for $100 bucks, just cuz i needed the extra for buying the blaster, than we traded the trail boss for the blaster... which i put the time, and my extra parts on, i bought the roller.. and took the brakes and wheels off it for hers..... she has not done a single thing on any of the quads except ride them ( hell i have to start them for her).... im not tryignt o flame her.. but i had a few offers of 700-800 for hers... i found two 'vintage' dirt bikes for cheap.. running riding for 500 obo.. i buy one for 400 than she can have the other3-400 bucks...

i just dont want the baby gettin hurt,...
