So, my father an I are about to over haul my 2001 blaster. First question to be answered is this, is there a way that I can input my serial number somewhere to find out that it IS a 2001? I bought it from a friend, who bought it from somewhere else, and he seemed confident it was a 2001, I just want to make sure before I go buy a manual and start digging into this.

well all the blasters are all the same but there is a website or somthing like that so u can figure out what year it is
You can run your 17 digit vin number here Yamaha VIN Decoder @ Motoverse.com to find the year,make,model,build date,plant build location ect.

If it's the 17 digit then its easy, if its the 9 digit (out of USA/Canda) then its a biotch and im still looking for something... Also Some of the out of US/Canda ones such as mine have the same engine code and vin code.. although it is the proper thing as it says in the on page3 of the blaster manual ( i think its page 3)
