just got some "aktive" brand aftermarket reeds, and decided to put in a new plug and give it a read, did a 6th gear wot run, pulled the plug, pure white... no color at all, then went for a little longer blast, pulled it again, same thing.... pure white?? seems like it's runnin very lean??
any of my bro's got any ideas or have to rejet for aftermarket reeds???

did you have the stock reeds in there before? if so im sure u prob need to rejet what jet are you running with all those mods?

stock 230 jet, stock reeds, prolly needed to go to a 240 for the uni filter, but the float valve was f uk'd, makin it flood and run rich, and plugs looked good before, but carbs rebuilt now, and when i went to get 2 new plugs today for reads, i did pick up a 250 main, gonna have to try it tomorrow
and yeah, way better on the wallet...rich over lean, thats why i was askin, wasnt sure if reeds required a rejet, but the plug says yes
thanx guys

250 sounds about right!

how much run time on the new plugs? it usually takes like 30-40 miles on snowmobiles, to get a plug color going on new plugs. probably just give it a little more time. you can rejet richer, just for the peace of mind. the uni-filter that you have, is it a pod filter?

no pod, stock replacement uni, and i follwed the 6th gear wot run for plug chops, purewhite, gonna give the 250 a try, or possibly readjust float level, i fooled with it so many times tryin to fix what the bad float needle was doin, now its fixed, so i'll check float level too

so, only 2 6th gear wot runs? if so, that ain't nearly enough time, to get a good color going on the plug. i've never needed to rejet, cause of reeds.

you're sayin 2 aint enuf wot runs, but if it is runnin lean, how may will it take till it seizes??? i'm not tryin to find that answer out

please tell me your premixing..
and up the main.. or even needle clip one richer for top end richness..

yea prob put the clip on the 3rd groove from the top. and if you do not have enough room for WOT in 6th gear for good plug readings then 5th gear should do it also. but no it shouldnt take longer then 10 mins to get the readings. just make sure u get it nice and warmed up before you go do that plug chop

of course im pre mixing, 32:1, maxima super m, and gonna go up to a 250 main and possibly check that clip setting, like i said i f'd with so many settings tryin to correct a flooding carb, so ganna go over it again tomorrow, and then do the wot's again
thanx for all the advice

i do live in a neiborhood with mostly old folk, but they all seem to be cool with it, and i went to the bottom street for the wot's, haha,
i dont know them, and then it turns to a cemetary road, but im sure a toomey or f7 pipe is gonna change what they think !!!!

the 250 main, needle clip on 2nd down, seems to be it, gettin some color on the plug, need a little fine tuning of the air screw yet and think im gonna be ok
