Ok so there is always talk of how I should see no day light through the reeds. What exactly does this mean. So where the pedal meets the top should there be no gap at all? or do they get thin or what? I will post pics of mine later. I have about 6 reed cages with reads and all of them have some gaps at the very top.

no, no gap at all. top, bottom middle, it should be sealed.

I just replaced my reeds on the KTM Blaster, there was a 3mm hole worn in a corner of 2 reeds. Didn't make any noticeable difference in the performance other than it starts better when cold.

What will having a small gap on the reeds do there was a dude at the bike shop that told me 1/16 gap was ok.I have a small one on mine do I need to replace them wile I'm doing my top end

If it is the reed springing open a bit, that is not a problem. Sometimes that happens as they wear. If it is the edges of the reeds don't line up and leave a gap, that is a big problem. They will probably self destruct with use because they are not supported.
