Rebuild on the "FREE SHEE"

“O” ring head gaskets are “sketchy”? Who told you that? There are plenty of MX bikes that have been running them for years without problems. Given a choice between a stamped steel gasket and O rings, I’ll take the O rings any day. They won’t leak or be problematic if they’re installed correctly and are of good quality. As for a milled, re-designed stock head………………………I don’t see it as being a viable option for a modified engine. Good choice Mike. Where are my pistons? Porting is almost done.

Well I didn't buy the cool head it was already on the motor. I have read nothing but good things about them. I will be cutting the fenders soon, just want to tape off a cool design.

Hey ken. Thracking number says the pistons were delivered today. I hope you got them.

I decided to mod the clutch cover before I put it on. I have everything mocked up I'm just waiting on my 1/16 rubber gasket material. I used 1/2 inch lexan. Turned out pretty good. I will get some better pics soon.

Looks good.Nice job.

Thanks. I should be making some progress next week. Cylinders should be back, bottom end done, and carbs and intake will be here. I just ordered a carb sync tool, billet water pump cover, chain and sprocket kit, billet gas cap, clutch cable, and a rockstar handle bar kit.

So we decided to cut the fenders tonight. A couple beers, tape, jigsaw, and torch were the tools used. Notice the first tool on the list! :) I like the way they turned out. Also put the case saver on and cut some material out of the stator cover for clearance. What do you think of the fenders? I could have cut them like everybody else does or bought some full bores, but where is the fun in that. I will be getting smaller lights soon so the front fenders will look a lot better then.

I cut the rears on my black blaster too (see sig.) I love the look. And when your rear tires are barely under the stock fenders your really not sacrificing that much. I don't mind getting muddy anyway. :)

Yeah I guess it's just personal preference. I wanted to make it look unlike any other banshees and this was the only way to do it. I like the full bore plastics, but so does everybody else. I might have to make a front bumper cause I only like one style of them and that's what most people run.

They are off a kx500. Pro tapers should be here soon. Looking for a set of yfz450 front shocks. If anybody has any they want to get rid of send me a pm.
