Does anyone know the thread size on the end of the brake cable?

I just got my bike and the end of the rear brake cable has been broke off inside the caliper housing. Easy-outs won't work, I was going to drill it, but I don't know if the threads are a regular metric thread or some special thread only used on cables.

I also pulled the inside out to find it was screwed. I've got the racheting to work again. I'm soaking the whole assembly in light oil and hope to be able to clean it up tomorrow.

I know I should go hydro, but I don't want to yet.

I know this is old, but rather than start a new thread I figured I'd revive this one. I am in the same boat as the OP. I've tried a bolt extractor, heat and pb blaster to no prevail. All it's doing is chewing up what's left. I'd like to just run a drill through it as close to thread size as I can, but I need to know what size/pitch the threads are so I can run the appropriate tap back through it. Trying to get it fixed up to send to another member, so I don't want to ruin it so it's good for no one.
