Ok guys. I've been told that a cracked or chipped case can be fixed either by JB weld or aluminum welding. I'm not sure if something this bad can be fixed. If it cant be fixed then what are my options? I'll have some pictures in a bit.

I dont have the piece sadly. But i have been keeping the idea of a new case half in the back of my mind. I'm a little worried about ripping the cases apart though. Not sure if i'm up to the task. Do i need any special tools to open her up. I already have the tools for pulling the flywheel. I am mechanically inclined and have already do my own work on this blaster. (i.e. - Brand new top end, honing, DIY flywheel mod, and full carb teardoown/rebuild) I know that 2 strokes are the more simple machines to work on too. Think i could tackle this job?

i used a TUSK crank installer to put it back together, and a harmonic balancer puller and long M8x1.25 bolts to split the cases. just make sure to get some yamabond to seal it up, and get crank seals and bearings as well.

Ok. Thanks for the info on the tools. I remember somewhere somebody telling me that the crank puller isn't necessary. But i think i'll just pick one up to make life easier.
