Raptor 350 slap in the face!

So im all excited about owning a quad for the 1st time and I tell one of my coworkers who I guess has a few quads his self. He tells me oh you got a Blaster oh those are ok little quads but my 350 is WAAAAAYYYYY FASTER than that blaster blah blah blah. Im like dude I just started and I like my blaster wtf Im not about to go to the dealership and buy a new quad and make payments I like owning my sh*t outright. Anyways just for the sake of conversation how right is he? And what does a stock blaster need to beat this loud mouth? BTW He weighs about 230-240lbs and Me 190lbs.

with his little 350 he is barely beating you, you can get a few minor upgrades porting, head mod but if your looking for something to buy just at an atv store quickly i would go with a new pipe toomey, fmf. You can get vforce reeds. PSST that guy has the nerve to brag about his little 350 id upgrade the blaster a little bit and tell him to eat my dust!!

maybe a larger carb
Change your gearing to 14t in front
Get 20" or 22" tires

In looking to beat him do you need speed or agility.

By spending some dollars your little Blaster could be more than a match in both departments.

you should have him easy..... all i have on mine is a FMF fatty pipe and a 14 tooth sprocket on the front and im keeping up with 400 ex's and in the trails beating them

although i do have full shocks on mine, so thats part of it in the trails

It don't take much for a Blaster to beat a craptor 350.

Just speed, acceleration but dam my blaster accels pretty dam fast now lol Im goin to be PRIMARILY on the sand dunes haulin a$$

I just bought it and got it running/idling, No mods but I added a new oiled uni air filter, spark plug, It was a widened rear akle. Besides that its pretty much stock. I was waiting on DKSIX to send me some parts :-(. Think he had a FMF exhaust, and a few other things, but he might be too busy, and bad weather in his area. Got anything I could use?

Everything appears to be stock, I took the carb apart and cleaned the hell out of it, performed a leak down test an it was solid. THe exhaust looks stock, intake etc. Unless there is something I dont see.

Considering you have 30-40 lbs on him and the blaster has at least 50 on the warrior, it should take very little to beat it (if any) as a stock Warrior/craptor 350 actually puts out about the same HP. And for not much $$$ you can double your power and a lotto winner could never double the power of that 350

While you were in the carb the two brass jets in there. That's what you need the numbers off off!

Stock is 230. With all stock motor and the UNI I'd say 240 and with the air box lid removed another jet maybe but you must plug chop to confirm I'd start at 250-260 better to start rich.

Search plug chops! In the search bar up top!

Btw removing the air box lid is one way to gain extra power. Just Make SURE you plug chop and have the correct jetting or you will be rebuilding before you know it!

I Premix 32:1 but I am leaning towards trying 40:1 stock. What exactly do you mean by going up 1 jet? is that purchasing a higher number jet to fit in the carb?

If I go up in Jet # that means the jet opening is larger so more fuel flow? DO the jets just twist out and twist in?

yup just twist in and out and the jet numbers go up by 10 so with premix 240 with premis and no airbox lid 250 and premix no airbox lid and uni filter 260 but you need to plug chop to conform it
