premixing sucks ! HELP !

have a feeling this is gonna happen to me !!!!!!!!!!

well my 250r had work done.. 270 bb kit, old school mid/top pipe, fmf silencer, uni filter, no lid, boyseen reeds..i was shoven alot of fuel into that thing... actually a bit rich but it loved it,

it was my own fault for not checkin my fuel when we stopped back at the trucks

The oil bottle and pump are removed because they're not dependable. The pump is driven by the crankshaft and delivers different amounts of oil at different RPM's. The drive gear is made of plastic and when it shears ( and it will ) it can longer drive the pump. If the pump's not running..the engine will seize. Pre-mix is the way to go!

damn i dontb want that happenin to mE !!!!!!

I'm guessing that there may be some changes to the later models. My '06 had the oil pump right on the end of the crank, under the front cover on the right side of the motor. I didn't have to drain any oil, break any seals etc. Just 3 screws to take of the front cover, 2 screws to take of the pump, the gear just popped off after taking the 4 little screws out of pump cover, and here's the shocker...the gear on mine is METAL! I took it off anyway and blocked it all off because I just don't trust that stuff, but mine is for sure not like all you describe.

HERE

Dont know if its true or not but i knew i read it somewhere.....

Haha, i never ride enough to run out of gas...For safety, i'll put 2 bottles of Bel-ray MC1 under my seat already filled with premixed gas...I know its probably not enough though..I do it for sh*ts and giggles...HA

I havent got to run mine out of gas yet in one trip :D Thats one of my all night rides Im sure. One good thing is you have a reserve tank as well and ive gotten pretty damn far on mine before :)

On the mixing I bought a Mixer from walmart man. It looks like a huge needle Lol VERY simple to use you stick in and mix 32/1 perfect every time, I believe it was 6 bucks .

I'm gonna chime in here and get y'alls opinion. I'm sure the newB might wanna know too. WHAT'S THE BEST PRE MIX OIL TO USE???? I know this has been discussed but I can't find the thread.

once again, get yourself a 2 gallon gas can, and then get a ratio rite cup! its got the ratio's on the side, and it'll give you the right premix every time....did it tonight, takes all of 1 minute to pour oil in the cup, pour it in the can, lid on, shake. that's IT
