Hey guys, gotta question here...Took my bike riding today first ride with a 250 jet. I noticed that the powerband hits soo hard at once...before when i would hit the powerband it was more gradual...the bike runs great on top end and low end....really supprised me on a hill climb today..but anyways my mods right now are,

Full fmf pipe and silencer
Uni air filter, no lid
boyesen power reeds
250 main jet

like i said the bike pulls through all rpms, but when the powerband hits, it feels instant, not gradual at all... seem normal? Oh ya stock gearing, i think

when you get that ''hit'' is when your hitting power band.. that hit is partly controled by your pipe for the rpms range your pipe was tuned for.. fmf supposto be adecent trail pipe so you should fell the most power mid gear..

not im running stock head pipe, and my power hits hard and low, pulls threw the rpm's and high high rpm it kinda falls on its face.. a aftermarket pipe gona be like a hit of crack to my blaster lol

your power band gonna be drasticly changed by your pipe

Yea i really don't see the problem... you should see how the powerband hits on a 125 with aftermarket pipe...

ya if a blaster had power valves wow little blaster would go crazy. front wheels off the ground all the time LOL that would be sweet.

first did you install your powerband right?

next. FMF pipes sorta drop at the top.

edit: i was joking about the first thing.

lol...i better check mine to make sure i installed it correctly !!!!!
(good one dave, made me laugh !!!)

the powerband on a sotck blaster(not a 240) is very weird sometimes..when stock mine was very broad, and not very hard hitting at all, and hits all the way through the mid...changing my pipe and reeds made a huge difference, made it hit more in the low to mid
now my yz250, thats a whole other story..you hit the power band on that at about 1/4 throtle and if your un experienced youll be on your back saying holy f&^k !!!! but thets the diff in a powervalve liqued cooled to an aircooled 198 cc engine.....jetting doesnt change your powerband as far as i know, reeds and pipes, headmods, porting etc will ...
is that right dave? fabb ? anyone?

yeah that fmf pipe is def. midrange power. Ride thru first after going thru the power area and keep the throttle down. It falls flat on its face. That area is your top rpm area but you'll notice its dead.

Whats the temp at where your riding? If its cold and the power band seems to be hitting expecially hard, then it could be running lean.

yea....after i put the fmf gold on it gave it more snap in low to mid(more mid) ..then i gear'd it to make up for top loss...
im not a big fmf fan on a blaster but when i got mine the price was right. just bought a dyno port for my bike and its amazing. but i guess for a blastwer thje dyno is more for the 240 kits....

yeah man, the powerband is insane on a yz250. pulls real good even from idle, then that powervalve opens and it either spins the back tire like mad or rips the front end off the ground

oooo hell yea...i just got done building my second yz250 last week...i sent jackson some pics, id post em but i know this is a BLASTER forum !!..lol
but anyways...YEA..the power band on that bike is just plain SICK.. !!! its a totaly different type of power compared to the blasters, (built 240 or stock) i own em both...I love the yz's...at 70mph in top of 4th it will still throw the front strait up and down without even trying..its an endless amount of pull......
