Ok, so here is the deal. I have been tuning my blaster for a week and am left banging my head as I am having problems.

First, here is list of mods

VF3, DMC Pipe, CFM/UNI, Pro Design Manifold Ported to VF3's

It was pressure tested and held 6psi for 30min.....

So here is the deal.....Plug check checks out perfect.....brown at the tip should be exact.

It starts first kick idles perfect. Runs through the first two gears no prob third fourth fifth and sixth run fine on low end and will run fine if giving it a little gas and letting it build up speed.

If gunned it drops out but then will stab back at speed. Basically bogging or cutting.

I replaced spark plug thinking it fouled during tuning. Not the problem. Rechecked plug and plug check is still perfect. Float is within spec and the float bowl of my mikuni 28 is same size as stock (I thought it might be draining bowl).

Upon riding slightly more I think it is cutting as it switches from pilot to main but plug check is good??????

This makes me wonder if I disconnected TORS correctly, it is 03-06 and I cut both wires behind connector on carb side and throttle side and spliced them yellow and black wire together on both sides.

I thought this was the correct way to do it??????????????

I have heard that the parking brake can be an issue on 03+ but it has been unhooked before by just unplugging at connector and I have never had a problem before so do not believe this is issue.

Any suggestions at this point would help I'm banging my head as to what is wrong.

what jets are you running? just remove the tors unit itself and disconnect the parking brake sensor. then you know thats not the problem. also have you messed with the air screw at all?

Yes air screw has been adjusted and is not the issue....does it anyway.

I am sure it is not the parking brake but could be TORS if I did it wrong though I can not hook it back up on my aftermarket Carb. Though I was always under impression that if tors was not working it would not even get up to speed at low throttle.

Lastly I have needle in the middle position and have not touched it. What would be the suggestion to try needle if that is the issue?

And yes I was doing plug chops. jets are 250 main 32.5 pilot with airscrew currently at 1 1/2 turns. needle is in middle position. this is a 28mm mikuni TM flatslide carb

listed jets above.....and I know cutting or bogging is usually lean but I have jumped up two jets which ran plug black and still had issue thats when
I tnhjought I fouled it and replaced plug

thank you for the post the needle suggestions should apply. so according to that my needle is rich if cutting at 1/4 throttle, I will try different position and then report back after trying. Thx for the quick help guys, I'll let you know the update and if it works.

i'd leave one of them rich jets in and drop that needle clip one, then another if needed, just to see how it reacts, i say if the needle clip isnt in the middle, a different needle is needed, but dropping or raising it one, to see it's reaction will tell if it's needle related, and one good run on it isnt gonna fry anything
you could also plug chop the needle, by doing a 1/2 throttle 6th gear run

my experience with what your saying about it falls off then comes back up was a rich needle on my 34pj

And scott, I basically followed your advice on TORS have you had problems?

sorry man think you might be confused. I have never even worked on the tors. my blasty came with it unhooked already. so no way i would give any advice other than unhooking it or lead you to a link

haha, ok so it is the needle position....tricky little biotch..... It is now screaming........fifth needle position was the key. I tried first the 1st needle .....(I musta read things backwards) But anyway thank you for the advice guys. I'll go back and throw some rep at the needle suggesters.
