I have a 230 jet uni filter fmf exhaust new gaskets in top end right crank seal, and it bogs like hell unless im in 5th i have a small amount of throttle at low end.
Im leaving right now to go get better premium gas and oil. So any help I would appreciate it.

THanks

you need at least a 270 main jet for those mods,
i'd start around a 310 and work down to a 290, 270, doing plug chops to confirm rich/lean on each till perfect
use the search button at the top of each page to find info on "plug chops"
do them and richen the main accordingly....or fry your piston

Yeah lid is on, but I just put a 260 in and its the same but wants to stall even more now.
Im ready to just take it to the scrap yard.

Changing to a larger jet which makes the problem worse speaks to me like a crack in the carby boot or reed cage being opened up more by disturbing it.

It would be a good idea to leak down test it..

ok what parts do I need to make one? I know there is a thread some where. Im pretty sure there is no leaks, but I could be wrong.

thanks ill pick up the pieces tomorrow to make one then let you guys know the diagnostics.

I just took of the intake boot and reed cage to take to the hardware store, and I noticed my gasket from the cage to the motor is wet (gas). would that be my leak there? I just put that gasket in yesterday. Also do i need a gasket between the cage and boot?

a stock intake does not require a gasket, it has rubber ridges built in to seal, i like a little hi-temp copper perma gasket on the reed to cylinder gasket, and the intake too

a fuel wet gasket beyond the inner edge would point to a leak,
if fuel can seep out, air most likely can be sucked in

Sweet I hope that's my leak. Im going to homedepot after work to get my leak down tester parts.
