Piston?

how do i kno if a piston is blown just by looking at it?
my dirtbike wont start and i think it might be the piston but im not sure if its blown or not

you need a compression gauge, it threads into your head like a spark plug then you give it a few kicks and see what it says.

also you might be able to feel it. it will be easier to kick if there is less compression then usual

if the compression is low can i just change the rings or something?
what can i do to raise the compression

new rebuild. or if your lucky gaskets,rings or simply torq head down

yeah check them reeds, and autozone and advanced auto will lend you a compression checker for a little deposit, you get back when you return it

Sometimes you can just put rings in but check first and see how scratched the piston is and the piston skirt is.
