well if its a streached out rod knowing i gota tear the whole enging down at least thats what i think ill have to do . ill be honest with u guys for how much i already spent getting this thing for the quad alone and getting it running ok ill probabaly ride it till she blows then sell the parts . what i might end up doing is just changing the piston but i thank u all for your time and answeres ill lyk what im going to do .

The trouble with running it until it blows (if it is piston slap which it sounds like it is) is that the part of the piston that finally breaks off usually gets lodged between the crankshaft and case.... then you're stuck with a set of cases that need repair before anyone would want them and sometimes that damage takes out the crank and cylinder too!
I have a motto I like to stick to.
"If in doubt, check it out."
It is not rocket science, or a difficult job to to take the jug off and get some measurements.
If a skirt breaks, we are now getting into difficult territory, it is either a full rebuild, or at least a case split and a clean coupled with a piston and rebore.

well i apreciate all your help time and concern but to be honest im a guy who lives paycheck to paycheck i got car payments and bills ect already spending about 1000 on this quad with the quad and little things here and there i dont have much money to throw i if i get a summer or two out of it ill be happy and when i blows ill sell what i can if not im sure someone will pick it up for free idc lol
