hello everyone. just bought my blaster a few nights ago. It ran great when i tested it out, got home cranked over first kick. A few hours after sitting nothing, thought maybe I flooded it or something. Tried again next day still cant kick her over at all. I was wondering what it means if there is fuel in the tube that connects to the filter? I also noticed the gasket the guy used on the reed case looks like crap. I noticed 2 different types of sylicone and 1 dry gasket on there. Ill be scraping all those off and putting a dry gasket on.

well on that reed gasket, people used sylicone cause sometimes you cant get your reed cage to stop leaking. i have vforce delta 2 reeds and i had changed my gaskets over and over and it still had an air leak. finally i used sylicone with my gaskets and it doesnt leak anymore. as for the hose going to the intake? i dont know what your talking about. are you talking about the hose that goes down towards the floor? if so then your floats are stuck. clean your carb or adjust your floats

im sorry i meant the intake tube, between carb and air box. thanks for the quick response.

i dont think there is a hose going there. but if theres gas getting in your air intake thne theres something wrong. i used to ride a warrior that gas got in the intake and it backfired one day and caught on fire while i was riding it.

I like a little bit of sealer on my reed gasket. Silicone sucks tho, I use Permatex Aviation-Form-a Gasket, it's gas resistant.

As for the gas in the airbox tube, yeah sometimes they do that a little when you are kicking and not starting. Also can happen really bad when the reeds have a problem. How do they look?

How does your plug look? Is it nice and wet like you flooded it? How is your spark?

i pulled the plug and it was covered in fuel. I was thinking of draining the tank and putting fresh gas in it. I haven't looked at the reeds yet. I do have spark after cleaning the plug off.

it just turns over without starting. I also need to order and replace the holder guide. The part that attaches the intake to the fender air box with the bolts. One bolt is broken and the guy used a ton of sillicone to seal it.

As long as you aren't pulling dirt, I would save the boot for later. Alot of guys here pull them off so getting a used one won't be a prob.

Spark and fuel but no fire sounds like timing. You might want to take off the left side cover and see if the flywheel is still tight. Sometimes people don't tighten the bolt well enough and it comes loose and shears the key.

If it is tight you can let it go for the moment, keeping in mind that you may yet want to get a puller and inspect the key visually.

sounds like you need to check for spark, are you sure that the switch is on? its really easy to overlook that stuff

The guy told me it was a new plug. It did look new just covered in fuel. It is sparking. The air filter looked clean but the guy used a ton of sillicone on the bottom of it so its bent now that i removed it. I see the guide holder part online for 20 bucks but i will have to wait a week to ride it. I am dying to ride it.

I really think the fuel might be the problem. Could have been sitting in it for a long time or something.

yes im going to start with fresh gas, oil change, new reed gaskets, air filter and some engine scrubing, and rear brakes. Then hopefully ride it.

im already forming an attachment to her, before riding it. i took off the fenders and am starting to paint her. i figure while im waiting for the parts, i can fix her.

ut oh! mod bug has bitten. i started off with a topend rebuild now look at all the cool mods i am doin.(in my sig). have fun with it. i love workin on it as much as ridin i think
