its a 1981 ATC honda 250R
i traded my 1976 arctic cat panther for it.
it runs and moves.
it needs a new rear shock and it needs some fork work and some new studs for the hubs other then that its pretty good.
not bad for being 28 years old I:I
they guy i got it from said it didnt run so i took it home thinking ok.
i checked compression 120psi good, i checked spark good, and it seemed like it was getting gas but i couldnt kick it over.
so i dumped a little gas in the cylinder and it fired rught up and the throttle response was terrible the thing was a turd.
then i noticed the air/fuel screw was turned only 1/8th of the turn out so i turned it 2 and 1/2 out and it seems like its running good now SWEET!!!
i havent touched anything on this trike yet!!

did someone say Blaster swap, what? haha could you imagine that? a ported and stroked 250r atc motor in a blaster frame? you would smoke alot of bikes...you should try that, i bet it wouldnt be too hard. a 250r blaster would be more fun than a 250 atc. my friend has two 250 4 poke atcs i dont like riding them. they handle like dogshit. are the atc motors the same bore and stroke of the trx250r? i think you should really do this, that would be a first for the forum i'd think...

yeah im thinkin resto.
yeah using this motor for a swap is out of the question the chain drive is on the right hand side (this is something special about the 81-82 250r)
well i got to ride it today instead of rev it up in the garage haha.
it runs like crap has no power so i decided to check the float level and that was way off so i fixed that and when i pulled the reed cage out then the gasket that goes between the reeds and the jug just fell apart so i think i had an air leak.
other then that it starts first kick without touching the gas.
the motor has no top end the power band is not even there so i think some new intake gaskets should fix that.

Cool 3-wheeler.There's a track in Tennessee where I use to race at that had several of them. With some porting, pipe, and other mods, those rigs will fly.

do a full restoration like mint! get it running beautifully and wait 2 years and sell it to a collector. that means BIG MONEY. 30 year old bike in mint condition... PSSSSSHHHT collectors be on that like flies on sh*t son!
