So we are about to put some Honda rear springs on the Blasters, but neither one of the guys wants a red spring on his rear shock.. Any thoughts on what paint would stick well, and hold up on springs with all the flexing going on?

tim your best bet is to paint with KRYLON FUSION it sticks to damn near everything in the world...you could paint your toenails with it lol

Well one will be here by friday I hope so maybe we can slap some paint on before we go riding on Sunday.. Thanks for the info guys.

quick question...I never messed around with shocks too much, how do you take the springs off? whats involved and/or needed ?

It is a pain in the ass! You need a spring compressor, bought, or made that will compress the springs to allow you to remove the plate that holds them on, then they come right off, but even with a decent compressor, its still a pain.

We were painting some Honda shocks....

It was pretty simple to get them apart. Simply unscrew the adjuster all the way out then there is no tension on the spring.... Collapse it a slight bit (by hand), and remove the retainers on the end. Slide the end piece off,and the springs comes right out..

Not with the blaster shocks, even when they are fully loosened up, you aint going to move them by hand.
