Ive been thinking about buying some rear paddle tires for when I go to the sand dunes. Just got me a set of used 8" douglas black label rims to use for my paddle tires. I have a fmf fatty exhaust, k & N filter, and newly rebuilt engine (all stock). What size of paddles should I get? Was looking at some 18 x 9.5 x 8 aerospeed tires or kenda gecko 20 x 11 x 8. Both are 8 paddle. Don't want the most expensive, but dont want the wrong size either. Im not out to compete, just to have fun. What do you all think??

I would take the 20's over the 18's and gear for them. To me the taller tires don't want to bury themselves as bad as short tires.
IMHO

i ran 20x11x9 8 paddles haulers on the banshee.
i think the smaller tire would work on the blaster since it is lighter.
but the other question is, where are you riding? like how is the sand.

Take the 20's over the 18's Height is improtant in the sand, Gear accordingly. Geckos are aight, I run a pair currently. I have ran many other sets, including pricey ones. You tear up paddles at a fairly fast rate, unless you never leave the sand. It just happens dont waist your money on ITPs. I love mine, bu they sure are pricey considering the options available.
Seriousley Haulers are the only way to roll. 8 paddles is too much for the blaster, but to each their own. Go with a bigger size and gear for it. If you have any questions regarding blasters on the sand let me know, I might be able to lend some insight.

Oh yeah. Burnt (dead) extreme paddles for a banshee work excellent for the blasters on the sand. Seen it many times.

Ok, I run solely in the dunes so ive got a bit of experience duning.

for a blaster, a hot setup is to run either a 6 paddle hauler or 8 paddle glider. 20 inch tall, 10 inch wide, 8 inch diameter. put them on a 8 x 7 rim.

I prefer the bead to bead buff or super light, but for the 1-2 per year duner, that might be a stretch in cost.

Douglas blue labels is all youll need. Dont buy something heavy thinking you need the extra protection. Whatcha gonna hit ? Sand !!!!

On my LT I run 22x11x10 10 paddle haulers on douglas .125 with a 12 tooth front sprocket. My LT won't accelerate in 5th gear (only a 5 speed) with those tires on it and it makes a little bit of power.

Taller is better in the sand , I have a set of ( inexpensive ) 8 paddle tires and they work great , I suggest you ditch the k&n filter for a dual stage uni filter and get a outerwears pre-filter , that k&n will flow more dirt into your engine .

given the two choices Id forsure get the gecko's. ive run a set of them before and had no issue with them, but once they wear down they arent so great. so never ride them outside of the sand! as said ^^ taller is better, but so is wider because it gives you more 'floatation' in the sand. you shouldnt have an issue with 8 paddles, but it would probably be a good idea to throw on a 12t front sproket when you hit the dunes

How will the 12t sprocket help? I only go to the dunes 2 or 3 times a year if that, so don't want to get the most expensive paddles. But I want to make sure and gear it right. Will probably get the 20 11 8 gecko 8 paddles because they aren't that expensive.
