The swine flu and H1N1 are the same thing. The W.H.O. recently said it has not been as bad as they first predicted it is only a class 1 pandemic (like the seasonal flu). The mortality rate is similar to a moderate year with the seasonal flu somewhere between 0.007% and 0.045%.(According to research done by Dr. Marc Lipsitch of Harvard University) The big difference is it came earlier than the normal flu, and it will probably be around for a while. I heard on a news conference with the local dept. of health that they estimate ~90-95% of the flu cases going around right now are H1N1.
