OKO-No-Go

A lot of the Banshee guys like the JJH needle. It starts out thicker so its a little leaner for the midrange which from what I understand is where these carbs flow a lot of air.

Id give a JJH needle a shot. Sounds like what youre needing.

that does sound like a solution, il look into it...shot!

I dunno. Needles arent horribly cheap, and it sucks to have to try multiples, but maybe get the JJH and if it is still too rich, then get the GJH. I dunno man. Its hard to give advice like that when its not my engine that its gonna be affecting if it isnt right.

ok, well i tried the stock banshee needle that i was running in my 26mm (vitos needle ) on the leanest position and its much better but still bogs in the mod but not as severly, so im on the right track...i had the needle and just gave it a shot. im going to look for a JJH.

Does anyone know the full Keihin code for the JJH?

Would not bending the little spring completely override the anti flooding properties of the needle and seat, like every time you hit a bump the needle opens fully allowing uncontrolled fuel to flow?

Is that not why the spring loaded needle was introduced.

Any messing with fuel control at needle and seat level, is going to mess with the fuel level in the float bowl. The needle and main jet will not know wether they are Arthur or Martha, and you will be chasing your tail all over the place with jetting.

Perfect jetting requires a constant fuel level

A plug chop will confirm where your jetting is at, but only with a carb with the correct, and constant fuel level!

My jets arrived and I ended up with 55 and 165.On the rich side with good throttle responce and a good idle.Top end is also getting her done. Now at this point I can see what you meen with the needle jet.Seems to be leaning out in the mid range and needs more taper and possibly shorter.Going to half to think out of the box a little. But yes the oko is a turd and a cheaply made carb.I did not even know it was an oko untill it arived.Got it from carb parts whearhouse and it was advertiesed as a kiehen.Idk I kinda liked the mikunis quality and build over these. The first thing that came to mind when I first seen it was wtf.Aw well I will play with the needle jet until I find some thing that works. It seems to be ripping more than the stocker so I will ride with it for a while and see what I come up with.

(Got in touch with the seller and there sending me some richer needle jets)

Went out for a descent ride today.Jetting is pretty close. But as is, this thing is running great. It does have a small flat spot right around 1/4 throttle but its quick to get on the pipe beond that.My stock carb did the same thing but this one I feel a lot more pull threw out the throttle range.Needle jet still on the lean side but they offerd to send me some richer needles. All in all I think its going to work out pretty good. And I half to say thanks again Blaner this drivelines clutch is solid.

May pay to lower the clip on the needle until your new one comes.

As you would know it pays to err on the rich side, it costs a lot less than running lean!

I agree.I have it set on 2nd clip from bottom.Going to drop it down to the first.

Ugg..Yup this carb is a no go for me as well.I just dont trust it.There really is no leeway on jetting this thing. So far I ended up with needle clip in 2nd slot from bottom 55 pilot.158 seems right on as far as main jet with mild mods.Allthough its running pretty good it still surges down to an idle after closing throttle.Ive double and triple checked for airleaks and found none.Float is set to 19mm and varified the fuel level by removing the bowl and fuel was right at the bowls gasket.Im thinking maybe best just to pick up a jenuine keihin in a 28mm air striker......They cost more and I really never wanted to invest to much money into this thing as I still always find my self grabbing for an extra gear that is not there but yeah oko no go.

I hate to say it but, the 28pwk isn't a friggin picnic either! 4 weeks, 7 spark plugs and 2 needle changes and I'm STILL fighting it.

just took mine out around the block. 2 kicks with the choke on and it idled, it's pretty fat because it was jetted in about 30-40 degrees colder than it is right now. but it still opened up pretty well as i took it around the block
