No sir, right now that ground wire(black) straight from cdi is connected with the yellow/black from the cdi box.
 
Ahhhhhhhhh I went through your wire diagram. Made sure everything was like it should be. Still same problem.....i am about ready to give up. I can't deal with this mofo!!!

i once called ken oconnor screaming i was going to roll it out of my garage and torch it :)

the manual says to test the stator and coil with an ohmmeter, if everything checks out (which you say they do)
it can be assumed the CDI is bad.

if this were mine, i'd be buying and converting to a 88-02, 5 wire, non tors CDI
(03+ has the tors built into the cdi)
this eliminates the tors built in unit and it's wiring from the equation all together,

you will need to direct wire it though, as the plugs are different.
it requires the 4 wires from the stator, color for color, the extra green wire out of your stator gets grounded to the frame, and the orange to the coil.

buy OEM, or the Ricks Hotshot only

Ok I got all oem stuff ordered with the cdi included as well.....it's got to clear the issue up if not I will torch it.....it's got me sooo mad...One bike holding us up from riding... can't leave a man behind, especially the first big ride
 
I'd pull the plug and remove the exhaust and carb, crank to BDC and let it sit for a day or so. That'll clean the bttom end out if it needs it. Is the piston in backwards? Does the situation get better or worse with the choke pulled out? Is your flywheel key sheared? Is there any way you can upload a video of it bogging?

Changed cdi and we are riding!!!

Thanks guys for helping me out with this..now I just gotta get it faster now...wouldn't mind beating the 400 with it..:) 9014063676 if anyone has any performance parts...pipe would be my start..
 
Cylinder ported, good pipe, head mod, open airbox with UNI filter or CFM setup with UNI filter and you'll be on his ass quite a bit.

A big bore or stroked build would have you out front.
