Ok, I have a 2003 blaster I bought. New top end put on. New seals installed. Leak down test good. Compression good (122psi)
everything was eliminated completely in electrical harness that was not needed.the only thing hooked up is the stator, cdi, and ignition coil.
Stator was pulled off and check at an atv shop, checked good.
Tors eliminated
Parking brake unplugged.
Injection bypassed running premix 32:1.
carb rebuilt with all factory jetting installed. 230 main etc.

This is the problem......i kick it and it'll start fine (I say fine), idles.......give it gas and baa baa baa baa baa. Never revs up.....kinda smoking more than you would think. But it smells like my premix burning, kinda sweet smell.......could this be my cdi..I know they don't fail often but what's left? I have lurked in the shadows reading 100's of post for the past 2.5 weeks trying to fix this on my own but I am stumped!! I've built a banshee, raptor, and 400ex this year and a dammed blaster is kicking my butt please help!! Thanks

Allen

list mods
stock exhaust?
plug type?
parking break wire is part of the tors, unless you meant the cable that goes back to caliper lol.

No mods
stock exhaust
Sorry just was trying to explain best I could, everything is bypassed except for the necessity.

you must cut and connect these 2 wires (black & yellow/black stripe) coming out of the CDI to trick the built in TORS system into thinking it's still all connected.................

something is obviously wrong either you did not wire it right,or someone else did not wire it right.
or stator is junk
or header exhaust pipe baffle inside is broken..
we will talk you through this lol :)
motivational speakero_O

Man I need motivation. I am literally about to freak and/or end up divorced.

Here's my wiring.

Stator wires except the light output are hooked up wire for wire.

Yellow/black and black wire connected together.

Black/white stripe left open.

Yellow/green wire left open.

Orange to ignition coil

Black wire from stator connected to chassis at the ignition coil screw

that all looks correct from what i can see.

ground at coil to clean bare frame ?
reeds condition ?
woodruff key has flywheel located in time ?

grasping for straws..........
tried a new spark plug ?
no rags/paper towels left in intake ?

Yes checked key so many times it aint funny.

Multiple plugs

No rags

Sanded connection for ground.

I say the reeds are ok..nothing out of the ordinary??

Please pull all straws haha because I am lost for words.

:) thanks already for the concerns

Have you messed with the carb at all? when it doesnt rev up is it sounding like its starving for fuel? Flooding? I'd check the float level, clean the carb, make sure you have fuel flowing to the carb. Vent tube on top of tank isn't blocked? Air Filter Clean?

Do you have the cdi grounded good???? And all of the above^^^^ If its an aftermarket stator you may as well throw it away
