Oil Pump Cover

Hi guys i am thinking about painting my oil pump cover white. i have krylon fusion paint i bought to paint my plastics about 4 months ago but just buying white ones so have no use for it. wondering if it would be good for that? also what's the prepping for painting it apart from it been clean haha
