Ive been having an issue where there has been oil leaking from my engine block where it connects with the exhaust pipe. A family friend told me not to worry about it if it has been running good, which it has. But im going riding next weekend and will be pushing the bike pretty hard and i dont want to break anything. its leaks enough oil where when i ride some splatters on my shin. Should i leave it alone or buy a new gasket? ive been told that if i buy a new gasket that it can make it run worse bc the carburetor has adjusted to run with an airleak... any advice would be appreciated.

use the rtv between pipe and flange as stated above, and/or replace the one time use crush washer if it's leaking between the flange and cylinder.
if it is leaking enuf to cause a lean condition ? fixing it will have you running slightly rich, which won't hurt a thing.
carry an extra plug or 2 in case it fouls one.

you can also adjust the airscrew to highest idle as described in the "adjusting airscrew/pilot" sticky in the carb section, and plug chop for your main jet to confirm the air/fuel ratio, after you seal it up

I have one retaining spring, the other one fell off i guess.
-Do i need another spring?
-Should i replace the gasket before using the rtv?

yes and yes

Thanks! I'll go grab a few spark plugs just in case a gasket and rtv

in your other thread
my fmf pipe did not have a spring
attached to the cylinder
it was atttached to the flange
looks modded to fit just 1 spring?
and yes use hi temp copper permatex
i dont care which quad/bike you have owned i have seen them all
leak or have carbon build up on the exhaust/cylinder flange from time to timeo_O

I also have an oil leak coming from my vent hose/tube that is coming off of the top part of the engine on the Brake side any suggestions on what is causing this??

If oil is coming from the gearbox vent tube, you may have a poor crankcase seal.

It could pay to leak test the engine.

The transmission could also be overfilled!

Has the bike been flipped causing oil to get up into the breather tube?
