i have heard sooo many times about this oil block off kit. i have had my bike now for about 4 months every weekend i spend at least 4-5hours on it my pre mix oil injection has never let me down? do these fail often isit a known problem on the blaster? please help i am lazy would prefer to keep it stock but if its known as a problem i will premix.I:I

it depends.. how old is your bike?? if its new dont worry. if its old worry... i run the injection system with no prob but im gonna switch once i start racing..

ok well mine is 2002 i have no previous history so i would say it has never been touched. but surley this is not a known fact tha they fail on the blasters?

The oil pumps fail all the time, too many blasters have seized becuase the pump failed. Its drivin by a plastic gear, the gear can and will strip eventually. The pump itself doesn't mix at a fixed rate either when your going slow or idling it will mix at 20-1 the when rmps are high like when your hualing ass it will lean way out. Don't risk it!! blocking off is easy, many threads and pics on how to allready.. just search around. :)

ok, im sure there is still stock 88's with the injector on....its just like any other atv or car part some fail some dont....but i would take it off if i was you, but its your choice..

and i am sure the more gas you give it the more oil it gets with the injector..even tho 20/1 is way to much oil..so i dont think it would lean out haullin ass....just my $.02

if u have a clean bike and ur bike is maintained and u only pour oil when the surounding area is clean and free of dirt u should be fine i removed mine cuz i dont wanna take that chance that it could fail

I would suggest blocking off the injection system, it is much cheaper to block it off and be safe than wait and having it fail. I waited to long to block it off on my blaster and it failed, which ended up scoring the piston. Its much better to just block it off so there are no worries of the system failing.

i took mine off because i am going to a big bore stroker on one of my blasters and so the other two also have it removed (so that i could use one type of fuel). both of my 2001 blasters oil injection systems looked brand new. I had a 70s dt175 yamaha with oil injection and it was still running in the 90s when i got rid of it.

i think you have all won me over pre mix sounds good now lol im a converted man iv always had 4 strokes so this is my first 2 stroker, whats the oil/petrol mix and isit better too mix while in the bike tank or petrol can?

mix at 32-1 IN A CAN. you cant get it to properly mix in the tank, unless you're at a gas station with all that pressure then it will mix ok.

Hey Burnin' oil 2001. That was my first bike when I was like 14. A blue 1974 DT175. Good bike. Fast enough to get away from the cops and at 14 that's all that mattered.

Any way, for me it was a no brainer. I use a 40:1 mix of Klotz super tach plate in my Shee so it made sense not to buy 2 different 2 stroke oils.

this is another popular controversy with blasters, some say tehy work with no problems, others have em fail. at high rpms the pump cant keep up with the engine. so you end up running almost 100% fuel.....but if you arent into it wot all the time, you should be fine. but most guys dont want the risk of the plastic gear failing and switch.

when i had mine i switched. mine was all stock too. i didnt buy an block off kit either. i took the pump off, removed teh drive shat and gear, and put teh pump back on. with out the pump shaft and gear, and no oil to pump (cuz you remove teh tank and lines) it wont work, so then you can premix IN A GAS CAN!!!!!!!

i bought a brand new '96 blaster back then and ran the injection for over 8 years, never fouled a plug and never even needed rings, started 1 or 2 kicks always, it ran hard and strong the whole time,
and trust me when i say, i ran it hard and long, lots of the times with my ex gf hangin on the back, keepin up with my bros on warriors and banshees on the trails, i dont think its ever been proven that they fail, just get blamed,
i do mix on this '01 though, it was already off when i bought it

My injection system was off when i bought it. but as long as you keep a good thin oil as your mix and a good trans oil like bel-ray gear saver or amsoil. It might last forever. i read this on another forum

Well, I have an '06 with injection, and I ride fast and hard, and its still running a-okay.
