Oil drain cracked...

I've been through a pack of rods and a bag of brushes. It takes a LOT of practice to get it to take right but once you get the hang of it, it'll bond aluminum together as promised.

Mapp is about 800 degrees hotter than propane AND they usually have a rosebud tip instead of a pointed flame tip which helps spread the heat around to the aluminum instead of just focusing it in one place until the aluminum is too hot.

Ok so i got a used right side case off ebay for a decent price, although shipping is expensive if you live in Canada.
My question is what tools are required to split the case and what kind of case bond do i need?

you will need to lap the cases and use yamabond for the sealer. you will need a case splitter and installer. them tools are not cheap both will run you about 100 buxs give or take. there are tricks to doing it without the proper tools but there are risks if you dont use them

Just a quick question whats the quickest way to take the top end off to get to the cases? Do i have to take it all apart starting from the cylinder head and do i have to take the piston off?
Sorry for the stupid questions just a little confused.

You can leave piston on rod to save buying new clip, but I would sequre it so it don't flop arond, maybe masking or duct tape. A Clymers manual would be your best investment at this point.

To take the right case half off, you should only need basic hand tools, a set of external snap ring pliers, an impact gun with a 19mm and 22mm impact socket, a flywheel remover, an impact screwdriver, and a clutch holding tool (ATV Parts, ATV Tires, Dirt Bike Parts, Motocross Gear, Motorcycle parts and Motorcycle Tires | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC sells the tusk clutch holding tool for $15) OR some ingenuity about a way to hold the inner clutch hub.

The crank stays in the left case half usually so a case splitter and crank puller generally are not needed. You will need to take the top end off but as larry's shee said you can leave the piston on. Remove the clutch cover and everything under it. Remove the flywheel and stator. Use the impact screwdriver and remove the case screws. Lift the right case half off the left. I recommend removing and bagging all of the transmission components while everything is still in order. If you don't, you'll end up knocking something over and scattering parts everywhere and then you'll have a real mess on your hands.

well said and i stand corrected i got my case halfs confused

Thanks allot for the help, i have most of the tools except for the flywheel puller and the clutch holder and probably a harmonic balancer to split the case.
Hopefully i won't have to wait too long for the case.

and so theres no confusion for any other members out there reading this and get an air powered anything fo the job ....an impact screwdriver is a non air powered unit that you hit with a hammer to get screws loose. dont be using an air powered impct gun!!
